Medical Genius Unspeakable Marriage (Matthew Larson) novel Chapter 3735

"I, well…"

"I love this little baby! I'm going to read him stories every single day!"

Before Ronny could give an answer, Ariya's voice burst out, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Sir, you should just say yes. You're always saying Ariya gets lonely being the only kid."

Ryan leaned in with his own push, his words pressing harder against Ronny's hesitation.

"But I'm already so old…"

Matthew caught the uncertainty in Ronny's eyes and spoke with steady conviction. "Don't worry about that. I promise you'll live long enough to watch this child grow up and get married."

Ronny had never fathered children of his own. Years back he adopted Ariya, but a girl would one day marry and start her own life. She could not stay with him forever.

When Matthew appeared with a baby boy, Ronny felt a rush of joy flood through him. At last Ariya would have someone to play with and keep her company.

Still, a hint of unease lingered deep inside him.

"You told me you'd help. Now that I'm here, you're holding back. Are you really the kind of man who goes back on his word, oh refined Mr. Donald?"

Matthew's voice sliced into him, leaving Ronny cornered and without escape.

"Fine. I'll take the boy in."

Ronny finally gave his answer, though his tone was stiff. Ariya lit up with pure delight, her smile brighter than ever.

"Since the child was saved by Mr. Matteo, we should let him be the one to give the boy a name."

"His mother was killed by the Medusa Gang," Matthew said. "Let his name be Justus, a name that means bringing justice down on Medusa."

"Justus! What a wonderful name!" Ronny clapped his hands together and praised it with excitement.

He immediately announced that a grand feast would be held to welcome Mr. Matteo and young and brilliant Justus.

Matthew almost laughed to himself. Just a moment ago, Ronny had been full of doubt, and now he was calling the boy young and brilliant without pause.

After settling the child, Matthew pulled Ronny aside and told him quietly to assign people to watch over the pregnant women in District 12.

"Bailey, lady, please forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye. I have reasons that force me to go. The time I spent with you was full of joy, and you helped me more than you know. Bailey, you are clever and you have a gift for medicine. I left a medical book for you on the shelf. If you study with focus, you will become accomplished.

"The clinic is now yours. I left half a million Dornia Emeralds in the money pouch to keep it running. For your grandmother, I left a mini Rejuvenating Pill in the drawer. It will give her more years of life.

"Do not worry for me. Yours, Matteo."

Bailey's vision blurred as tears ran down her face. She threw herself into her grandmother's arms, her heart breaking apart.

Her thoughts clung to one thing. Something had forced the boss to leave without even saying goodbye.

By then, Matthew had already reached his next stakeout. It was the cave where the pregnant women had been held.

With Sogan and his men gone, the Medusa Gang emissary would send new people to investigate. If Matthew allowed himself to be found at the right moment, he could be led into their headquarters.

His new mask was the man he had killed—Captain Sogan.

With every passing day of shifting faces and stolen lives, Matthew felt his true self slipping away, until he could hardly remember the face that had once been his own.
