"Explain?"
Serena chuckled, her tone thick with mockery. "Does The Hope Initiative really need to resort to such tricks?"
Her cool voice was light and breezy.
Stripped of any excessive emotion.
But those few simple, emotionless words.
Struck Bianca across the face harder than a physical slap.
Leaving Bianca thoroughly humiliated.
The other competitors looked at Bianca like she was brain-dead. "Exactly! The Hope Initiative has taken a flawless first place in ten consecutive team rounds."
"With their insane talent, why would they ever need to cheat?"
"They're so dominant, it's a guaranteed win for all eleven rounds. They don't need any petty tricks."
"..."
The competitors chimed in one after another, drowning Bianca in a sea of sarcasm.
From the very beginning, they never believed The Hope Initiative had anything to do with the blackout.
They only came over to ask how the team had managed to maintain power.
Without electricity, their experiments were completely paralyzed.
Bianca was floored by the absolute trust the competitors had in Serena.
Making her look like a total clown.
Bianca's face flushed crimson, then turned a sickly pale. "Then... then why does only the Apex Research Hub have power?"
Serena casually raised her gaze, her voice indifferent. "Because my equipment has a built-in Fusion Micro-Power Module."
A built-in... what?
Micro... what?
Serena scoffed, lazily shifting her gaze toward Bianca and Adrian.
"This island is a top-tier research facility. Its power grid operates on a Dedicated Research Grid Frequency."
"But a bunch of idiots brought in commercial hardware and forcefully connected it, overloading the system and blowing the Grid Transformer."
"Do I need to teach you basic physics?"
"Don't blame others for your own stupidity."
Everyone's eyes snapped simultaneously to Bianca and Adrian.
"Right! Right before the power died, alarms were blaring from their lab. It had to be The Dreamscape Initiative!"
"Forcing commercial equipment onto a research grid and overloading it? We're supposed to be elite competitors, don't they have basic common sense?"
The competitors ground their teeth, their eyes turning predatory once more as they cursed fiercely at Bianca.
Cornered and panicked, Bianca cowered behind Isabella, feebly snapping back, "Whatever! You and Adrian plotted this together to frame me! We're victims too!"
