"Oh... so it's that Elyndorian Captain who's been making headlines lately."
"Makes sense."
"Some country is probably tired of getting crushed by Elyndor and wants her dead before the finals."
He clicked his tongue, completely devoid of sympathy. "Not my problem, though. With thirty billion on the table, I'd be an idiot not to take it."
Without hesitation, his finger tapped the 'Accept' button.
When the confirmation prompt popped up.
"Heh." Jasper flashed an impossibly cocky, satisfied smirk.
He stood up from the sofa, already calculating the auction price for The Rose Quartz Isle in his head, entirely unable to suppress his grin. "One job, and I've got enough for the pink island!"
"Then I'll hand it straight to Serena as my ultimate welcome gift."
He imagined the look on his little sister's face—how her eyes would sparkle as she looked at him with sheer adoration, crying out, 'Jasper is the best! I love you so much!'
He was practically floating.
Even better, he was already stationed in Severia.
This job was practically tailor-made for him.
Thinking about it, Jasper hummed a light tune. He slowly reached up and brushed back a few perfectly styled strands of hair falling over his forehead.
A highly narcissistic, flashy smile graced his impossibly beautiful face.
"Man, even the universe is pushing me to make bank and spoil my sister."
...
Top floor of the SK Hotel, Imperial Suite.
Outside the window, the bustling city was just beginning to show the faint glow of dawn.
Inside the suite, the lighting was warm and soft.
Serena had just stepped out of the shower. A loose white bathrobe wrapped carelessly around her frame, accentuating the elegant, porcelain curve of her neck.
