The guests inside the banquet hall froze.
"What's that noise?"
"What's happening outside?"
"Don't tell me something else is going wrong."
Having just survived the chaos involving Alaric and the Obsidian Sun, hearing such a massive commotion instantly set everyone's nerves on edge.
Jerrick's gaze snapped up, his eyes turning lethal.
Jasper dropped his lazy smirk. He twirled his fingers slightly, his eyes darkening. "Round two?"
The gentle warmth in Julian's eyes vanished. He shifted his stance, forming a protective barricade with his two brothers, shielding Serena behind them.
Catherine instinctively squeezed Serena's hand. "Serena..."
Serena patted her mother's hand lightly, her clear eyes perfectly calm.
She highly doubted the Obsidian Sun would launch another move this quickly.
After all, Alaric had only just been taken into custody.
Right now, the Obsidian Sun's absolute priority was silencing Alaric and burying every secret attached to him.
Moments later, Alfred sprinted into the hall.
The man, well over fifty, ran until his face was flushed. He was panting heavily, completely abandoning the dignified composure he usually maintained.
"Mr. Lancaster! Sir! Madam! Mr. Lancaster!"
The sheer panic on his face sent everyone's hearts sinking.
Edward's eyes went icy. "Speak!"
"Out... Outside..." Alfred swallowed hard. His expression was a bizarre mix of terror, joy, and sheer bewilderment.
Old Mr. Lancaster furrowed his brows. "What's outside? Stop stammering and spit it out."
Alfred pointed toward the doors, his voice laced with shock. "Outside... there are so many private jets! And helicopters! They're all circling the manor!"
Edward frowned. "Private jets?"
