Night fell.
The lights of a top-tier racetrack on the outskirts of Vaelion City blazed brightly.
Security was tight, cordoning off the area. Only those with credentials could get in.
It was Hailey’s first time in a place like this.
Her ears were filled with the thumping beat of electronic music and the thunderous roar of engines rising and falling.
She was a little curious and a little scared, clutching Adrian’s arm tightly. Her eyes, accentuated with carefully applied makeup, darted around.
She had the look of an innocent little lamb stumbling into a pack of wolves.
And men, they certainly ate that up.
“Scared?”
Adrian looked down, his chiseled face and sharp jawline appearing even more imposing under the bright lights.
Hailey tilted her head up, her innocent eyes filled with adoration as she looked at him and shook her head. “With you here, Adrian, I’m not afraid.”
Ever since the Lancaster family had canceled their partnership with the Wynn family, Titancrest Group and NovaForge Capital had successively announced they were pulling all funding and collaboration with the Wynns.
Following that, countless other companies, large and small, had terminated their contracts with the Wynn family.
The Wynn family was now in an extremely precarious position.
The slightest push could bring the whole thing crashing down.
Hailey was determined to hold on to Adrian. If she could just marry into the Cole family and become a society wife before the Wynns collapsed…
Whatever happened to the Wynn family after that would have nothing to do with her.
“Adrian really dotes on you, Hailey. You wanted the champion’s prize, so he came to compete.”
“Don’t you worry, the prize is as good as yours with Adrian on the track!”
Hailey’s face flushed, her eyes shimmering with adoration and innocence as she gazed at Adrian without blinking.
The love in her eyes was practically overflowing. “Adrian is the best!”
Adrian’s eyebrow twitched. He tried to remain nonchalant, but the confident smirk on his lips was undeniable.
If it were Serena…
She would never encourage him or cheer for him like Hailey did, giving him that emotional boost.
Serena would just stand there blankly like a nanny, waiting for him to get on the track before tidying his racing suit and adjusting his helmet.
