Serena let out a soft laugh. It was a cold, humorless sound. "So, the grand spectacle Project Zero-Transit wants the buyers to see is you stimulating its neural chip right after it barely stabilized?"
Director Kaelen's expression stiffened. "It's merely a Level-One Neural Prompt. It won't cause any significant impact."
"It won't?" Serena lifted her gaze, her dark eyes locking onto him with a chilling intensity. "Are you absolutely sure about that?"
A cold shiver ran down Director Kaelen's spine under her stare. Of course he wasn't sure. But this was the standard preview protocol. The Sterling Sovereign was a top-tier buyer; he couldn't be expected to just stare at a dormant, semi-finished asset on a display table. Furthermore, orders from the top were absolute: The Sterling Sovereign had to witness Specimen Seven's true value. Only then would the remaining living assets fetch their desired prices.
Director Kaelen gritted his teeth. "Your Excellency, The Panacea, this is simply to give The Sterling Sovereign a comprehensive understanding of the asset."
"Oh." Serena gave a lazy, dismissive hum. "Then do as you please."
Her abrupt change in attitude only made the director panic more. He looked at her with growing unease, his lips moving soundlessly for a moment before he cautiously asked, "You aren't going to stop us?"
Serena offered him a half-smile. "Why should I? I've already given my warning, and the security cameras have recorded everything. If something goes wrong, the blame won't fall on me."
Director Kaelen was rendered speechless, nearly choking on his own breath.
Nicholas cast a brief glance down at Serena, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. He could tell she was angry. However, restricted by her current disguise, she couldn't openly tear down the organizers' stage. This lazy, indifferent facade of hers was when she was truly at her most dangerous.
The organizers, however, clearly didn't understand Serena's temperament. The technical staff hesitated. After all, the reputation of The Panacea had rapidly spread among everyone handling the living assets. Her medical judgments had been practically flawless. Right now, her attitude clearly indicated she was against stimulating Specimen Seven.
Yet...
Bound by protocol, they had no choice. They could only look hesitantly toward the director.
Director Kaelen took a deep breath, turning to give the technicians a firm nod. "Initiate the Level-One Neural Prompt."
