"Who's mad? And who's acting tough?" Brianna's cheeks puffed out. "Stop making things up. If you've got nothing better to do with your mouth, go lick a toilet instead of yapping at me!"
"Whether I can ride or not is none of your business. This was a gift from Serena. It's my treasure, and I'm not going to use it as a prize in a bet, and I don't want to race you!"
After her angry outburst, Brianna turned to Serena, her face still flushed with indignation. "Serena, let's just ignore them. They're ruining the mood! Let's not play anymore, let's go home!"
Coming here was supposed to be a happy occasion.
Because Serena had come to see her at the hospital.
Because Serena had gotten her discharged early.
Because Serena had given her the gift she had wanted more than anything.
Because Serena had brought her to a racetrack, a place she had dreamed of for over a decade but had never dared to visit, allowing her to experience the atmosphere up close and for real!
All of this...
These were things she had never even dared to dream of before.
Thanks to Serena, her wishes had come true.
She was truly happy.
She didn't want these people to ruin her good mood, nor did she want them bothering her and Serena.
Serena naturally understood what the girl was thinking.
She gave a soft "Mm-hmm."
She lifted her foot, hooked it under Brandon's face, which was still pressed to the ground, and sent him flying with a sharp kick.
Like something out of a movie, Brandon spun through the air like a top.
He didn't fly too far, landing right at the feet of Adrian and his group.
"Brandon!"
Lauren rushed over to help him up.
He was a pathetic sight.
Adrian's dark, meaningful gaze shifted back and forth between Serena and the Ghost.
He lifted his sharp chin. "As it happens, I'm also very interested in the Ghost."
Brianna gripped the handlebars, her expression changing as she frowned and glared at him.
Adrian's gaze, however, was fixed on Serena. "According to the rules of Apex Horizon Speedway, everyone who comes here is a racing enthusiast. Private matches can be initiated..."
"If you don't want to race, it's considered a forfeit. In that case, you leave the Ghost, and you can go."
Brianna's wide, clear eyes bulged. "What kind of gangster rule is that? The bike is mine. If I don't want to race, I don't want to race! Are you going to force me?"
"Brianna, you don't understand racing, so you don't know the rules of Apex Horizon Speedway," Lauren said, helping Brandon up. With a hint of gloating, she pretended to explain kindly, "Apex Horizon Speedway has a rule called Overdrive."
"Someone who receives an Overdrive challenge has no right to refuse."
"Anyone who sets foot in Apex Horizon Speedway is considered to have implicitly agreed to its rules. Even Mr. Foster... would have to abide by this rule."
She was hinting that even Brian couldn't help them now.
Brianna's eyes widened, and her face turned red with anger.
What kind of ridiculous rule was this?
