"Impossible!"
Professor Watson was the first to explode. His face was ashen, twisted in absolute outrage. "Our hardware was flawlessly configured to match Specimen Fourteen's biometric data! Every control module perfectly syncs with its neural pathways. There is absolutely no way it would trigger a meltdown!"
Hearing this, Serena's eyebrow slowly arched up.
A deeply dangerous, amused glint sparked in her dark, beautiful eyes.
"Flawlessly configured to match Specimen Fourteen's biometric data?"
She curled her lips into a predatory smirk, echoing his words back to him.
Syllable by syllable, she let the sarcasm bleed through.
The sheer condescension in her voice made the muscles in Watson's face twitch uncontrollably. He pointed a shaking finger at her, ready to unleash a torrent of abuse.
But before he could spit out a single curse.
Serena lifted her chin, her voice dripping with lethal mockery. "But you seem to have forgotten... the only information Project Zero-Transit publicly released regarding Specimen Fourteen were my surface-level diagnostics and basic vitals."
"The ship never disclosed its comprehensive biological data to any of the buyers. So tell me... how exactly did you know how to perfectly configure your machines?"
Watson's gaping mouth snapped shut. His furious expression froze instantly.
He looked utterly ridiculous, entirely caught in his own lie.
Serena's brutal observation hit the ship's executives like a physical blow. They whipped their heads away from her and stared dead at Professor Watson.
Then, they looked at the pristine, highly complex medical rigs.
Suspicion and deep hostility flared in their eyes.
