With that, he hurried toward the main entrance, calling out to the other servants to gather at the door to welcome their guest as he went.

Karen and Isabella were left standing there, watching as the staff, in a display of well-drilled precision, swarmed toward the main entrance.

Karen clenched her fists. The humiliation of being ignored made her frustration boil over.

As the eldest daughter of the Blackwood family's second branch, she had never commanded this kind of reception or pageantry!

"Let's go, Isabella! We'll go have a look. Nicholas is back, this is your chance!" she said, also wanting to see just who warranted such an extravagant welcome.

Isabella clutched the thermos in her arms. The mention of Nicholas's return had already set her mind racing.

They were just about to head toward the main entrance.
