Serena wasn’t surprised that Nicholas had figured it out.
After all, the man’s mind was as formidable as his face was bewitching.
It only took a little thought for him to deduce her reason for moving out.
“Speaking of which, I also have a villa in the west suburbs,” Nicholas said, his low, husky voice like a feather brushing against her ear.
Serena glanced at the impossibly handsome face on the screen. “And?”
“So, you can move in with me,” Nicholas said with a grin, dangling the bait. “My villa is a standalone property, remote enough, and has a military-grade security system. The full-coverage surveillance can be synced to your phone. Is that enough for you to lure them in and take them all out in one go?”
Serena’s eyebrows lifted slightly.
Military-grade security?
A standalone property?
The conditions were… exactly what she needed.
It was quite tempting.
With two factions from Norvane descending at once, it was bound to cause a commotion. She really needed a place that was remote enough but also allowed her to maintain full control.
This meant she wouldn’t have to waste energy setting everything up herself.
“It sounds pretty good,” Serena admitted.
“Of course,” Nicholas said, a smirk playing on his lips and an almost imperceptible smile in his voice, laced with a seductive quality. “And most importantly, I’ll be staying there too… to lend you a hand.”
Serena was silent.
Living with Nicholas?
Alone?
In the remote suburbs?
Her eyes narrowed.
As if guessing her reaction, Nicholas slowly sweetened the deal. “I’m only thinking of you. I’m making a personal sacrifice to make it easier to help you.”
“And what if your family misses you and wants to video chat? If they see us together… it’ll be more convincing, right? It will save them from worrying about you living alone, always on edge and letting their imaginations run wild, don’t you think?”
The man’s words perfectly addressed all of Serena’s concerns.
