The messages were brief.
Basically, Nicholas had called twice with no answer and was asking if she was busy.
The last message, sent fifteen minutes ago, asked her to give him a call when she was done.
Serena stared at the name "Nicholas" for a few seconds before tapping her finger on his number to call him back.
The call was answered almost the instant it started ringing.
"Serena."
The man's voice was still deep and magnetic, but it was tinged with an urgency he couldn't suppress.
Serena's long, raven-like lashes fluttered, and she slowly hummed in response.
"Are you still busy?" His tone became more cautious.

Rachel's voice trembled with excitement. "BOSS, you truly are a genius designer, Cloud!"
"I have to go, you keep an eye on things here," Serena said, setting her work coat aside. "For the red one, start hand-sewing the key embellishments according to the design sheet. I'll personally supervise it tomorrow. As for the pink one… I'll handle the details when I come in tomorrow. Thank you, everyone, for your hard work. Let's get these ready within two days."
As soon as she finished speaking, the team of top master tailors in the workshop let out groans of misery.
Serena raised an eyebrow. "Once the garments are finished, this month's bonus is doubled."
"The boss is the best!" Cheers erupted in the workshop again.
Serena turned and walked out of the studio.
Rachel stared after her boss's retreating back, utterly dumbfounded…
