Nicholas gave a casual nod, his tone normal. "Nathaniel, Fiona, it's nothing. Both of you can… get a good night's rest tonight."
Nathaniel and Fiona glanced discreetly out the window. "But…"
"It's fine," Serena said calmly. "They can't cause much trouble tonight. The real players haven't shown their faces yet, so there's no need to rush."
Once inside the villa, they were within the perimeter of the security system. There was no need to worry that these small fry had the ability to breach it and overhear their conversation.
Nathaniel and Fiona exchanged a look, still worried. But seeing the relaxed and lazy expressions on the faces of the two before them, they nodded and retreated to their own rooms as instructed.
"Come on, let's go see what kind of people have come to visit," Nicholas said, leading Serena toward a hidden corner. He pressed a spot on the wall, and a secret elevator door slid open.
The two of them stepped inside. The elevator descended, heading straight for the basement.
When the doors opened, they were greeted by a vast and spacious control room. A massive screen covered the entire wall, displaying a dense grid of surveillance feeds that monitored the villa's exterior in real-time. It was a complete, 360-degree, no-blind-spot view. Other screens showed energy fluctuations, infrared sensor data, and other metrics for the surrounding area.
This was the heart of the villa—the main control room for the security system.
Serena walked forward, her eyes quickly scanning the dozens of monitor feeds. In less than ten seconds, she had locked onto the target area. Several dark figures were moving with extremely professional tactical maneuvers, like ghosts, advancing on the villa from all directions.
