Finley casually walked over to Livia, but she quickly took Mandy by the hand and pulled her onto the dance floor.
Finley just stood there, speechless.
Garrett chuckled, “So, Finley, what did you do to upset that girl?”
“Uh, Uncle, I…”
“Must've been something major; I'm afraid you're on your own with this one, son.”
Finley remained silent, feeling the weight of the situation.
Hattie added, “Finley, women need to be treated with care. You can’t just go around hurting them.”
Finley sighed, realizing he had learned that lesson a little too late. The damage was done, and there was no fixing it. Life felt especially tough right then.
...
The dance came to an end.
Everyone gathered around the table, raising their glasses to celebrate Josefina and Oliver’s wedding.
Brandon lifted his glass high, “Here’s to Oliver and Josie, wishing them endless happiness together.”
Everyone stood, clinking glasses, their faces bright with smiles.
...
As the party wrapped up, Oliver and Josefina headed to his room.
It was their wedding night, and Hattie had suggested Josefina spend the night at Oliver’s place, but reminded her to take care of herself.
Josefina stepped out of the shower, feeling surprisingly normal given the circumstances.
“Oliver, are you seriously planning on moving into my place?”
Oliver leaned closer, his gaze fixed on Josefina’s rosy cheeks, his voice smooth and captivating.
“Josie, we’re married now. How you address me has changed, my dear wife.”
With her hair wrapped in a towel, Josefina looked up at Oliver, innocence in her eyes.
“Oliver, don’t look at me like that.”
She playfully pushed his face away.
