Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1046

"Hey boss, Logan here brought you a little treat. I tried it at the supermarket, and it's just as soft and sweet as you like."

Logan gave Luke a sidelong glance. "And how do you know what my mentor likes? She's my mentor, not yours."

Luke gave Logan a friendly pat on his muscled arm. "Well, since your mentor is my boss too, that kinda makes me your senior, doesn’t it?"

Josefina stood there, caught in the crossfire of their playful banter.

Logan, looking slightly annoyed, hovered protectively behind Josefina. "She's my mentor, not your boss! She's all mine!"

Luke was used to Logan's possessive streak when it came to Josefina.

Josefina decided to step in and ease the tension. "I'll take the durians home. The rest is for you guys. Leaving them here might just drive everyone nuts."

Logan held up two durians. "Mentor, I'm tagging along with you."

Logan's pleading expression was like a lost puppy looking for a home.

"Mentor, can I crash at your place tonight?" Logan asked with hopeful eyes.

Josefina couldn’t resist those puppy-dog eyes.

"Alright, come on. I'll take you home. My grandparents and mom are there too. You can meet them."

Logan was ecstatic, practically skipping with joy as he carried the durians, not minding their weight at all.

Josefina led the way to her car, with Logan eagerly following behind.

...

In the car.

Logan was locked in a tense staring contest with Oliver, creating an awkward atmosphere for everyone else.

Oliver had come to pick up Josefina and hadn't expected to be chauffeuring Logan as well.

"Mentor, why's he in the car? Make him get out," Logan grumbled.

Oliver let out a chuckle, though it was tinged with frustration. "This is my car, and she's my wife. If anyone's leaving, it’s definitely not me."

Logan felt a slight twinge of guilt.

"I'm sticking with my mentor, no matter what," he said, snuggling closer to Josefina.

"Logan, you should try some too."

"Mentor, this durian is amazing. If you like it, then I do too."

Oliver, driving up front, felt like the invisible third wheel. "Do they even realize I'm here?" he muttered under his breath.

He cracked the window open to let in some fresh air, desperate for a break from the overpowering smell.

Logan's chatter in the back was nonstop, filling the car with noise.

Oliver made a sharp turn, and soon they arrived at their destination.

Logan looked out the window, awestruck. "Mentor, this place is stunning, even better than our Green Valley. Is this some kind of tourist spot?"

Oliver’s voice came from the driver's seat, laced with pride. "This is my home."

Logan was caught off guard.

He suspected Oliver was just showing off, flaunting his grand place on purpose!
