"What!" Josefina was completely taken aback. "You actually went and told Dorian about something so minor?"
Mandy looked sheepish. "I was just worried about you, Josie. I thought you might have a hard time dealing with it alone, and I got scared. So, I told our cousin."
Mandy gently tugged on Josefina’s sleeve. "Josie, it’s all my fault. Please forgive me this once, okay?"
Josefina couldn’t really blame Mandy; after all, she was just concerned. But now that Dorian was in the loop, she had to give him a call.
She dialed Dorian’s number and switched to voice call.
Meanwhile, in the conference room...
Dorian’s phone buzzed persistently, prompting the manager presenting to lower his voice, sensing the boss's potential irritation. Everyone knew calling during a meeting was asking for trouble.
But then, to their astonishment...
Dorian answered with unexpected warmth. "Hey, sis."
"Dorian, I didn’t mean to keep this from you. I could’ve handled it myself, and I didn’t want to worry you."
On the other end, Josefina's voice was as sweet and pleasant as always.
"No need to apologize. You didn’t do anything wrong. If anything, I should’ve been more on top of things. I owe you an apology."
As Dorian spoke, he noticed the executives exchanging bewildered looks. He stood up and walked out to continue the conversation.
The executives left behind were stunned.
"Did he just call someone 'sister'?"
"Must be the new family member the Harrisons found."
"Definitely. He never had this kind of patience with the old one."
"Who knew he had a soft side?"
"I wish I could see that side too."
