Cole spun around, his expression shifting instantly. "Dad, I'm here," he said, knowing he had to stay put for now, or risk blowing his cover. With the police sniffing around the warehouse, he was in the dark about whether Oliver and Josefina knew what was up. He couldn't let his mind wander too far down that path; he might lose his cool.

Over at the warehouse, Oliver and Josefina had made their way inside. The place was an absolute disaster, with everything in disarray. Oliver noticed Josefina crouch down and quickly helped her back up. "Josie, don't forget your gloves," he reminded her, handing over a pair. "It's too risky without them."

Josefina looked up at Oliver's serious face, and with a cheeky smile, stood on tiptoes to give him a quick kiss. Oliver blinked, caught off guard, but his gaze softened with affection. "Get to work," Josefina teased, darting off with a laugh. As she checked out the damage, Oliver stood for a moment, grinning, before following her lead.

Before long, Percy showed up, joining Josefina in the cleanup effort. "Sorry I'm late," he puffed, slightly out of breath.

Josefina shot him a look. "What have you been up to? Mandy said you haven’t been by the lab for a couple of days."

Percy hesitated for a moment but then shrugged it off. "I took on a side gig, sorry about that."

"No big deal. If you've got stuff to handle, take care of that first."

"Josie, I'm done with that. Nothing's more important than what you've asked me to do. Promise I won't be late again," Percy said, eager to make amends.

Listening in, Oliver felt his patience wearing thin. Was Percy not thinking before speaking? Oliver was standing right there, not some invisible man. Quickly, he stepped up beside Josefina.

"Percy, I've got Josie's tasks covered. If you've got private work, focus on that first," Oliver insisted.

Percy nodded, looking a bit sheepish. "The side work's mostly wrapped up, so I'll concentrate here," he replied, eyes downcast.
