Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1231

Before Josefina could get a word out, Percy spoke up first.

“Josie, come with me. Once you see for yourself, it’ll all make sense.”

He started walking, and Josefina followed him down a quiet hallway to a hidden door.

When Percy opened it, Josefina’s eyes landed on the person inside. Her whole body froze, and she let out a sharp gasp.

“Logan!”

She never would’ve guessed Logan was here with Percy. No wonder all her searching had turned up nothing.

She rushed into the room. Logan was lying on a narrow bed, his wrists and ankles strapped down tight so he couldn’t move.

Percy explained, “Logan’s episodes have been getting worse. When I’m not home, I have to lock him in so he doesn’t hurt anyone by accident.”

Josefina’s voice was shaky. “Why didn’t you tell me? Logan’s my apprentice—I should be the one taking care of him.”

She still couldn’t believe Percy had been hiding Logan this whole time.

Percy met her eyes. “Josie, we’re friends. Your apprentice is my friend, too. He came to me for help—I couldn’t turn him away.”

So it was Logan who’d shown up at Percy’s place that night, bleeding and desperate. Percy had wanted to call Josefina, but Logan had begged him not to. He didn’t want her to see him so broken.

Just then, Logan’s eyes fluttered open. He looked clear-headed—calm, not wild or lost.

“Master,” he said softly.

Josefina’s heart clenched. She nodded at Percy to unlock the restraints.

...

Later, the three of them sat together at the dining table.
