Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1244

These two families really knew how to scheme for their kids.

“Mr. Oliver, do we keep tailing them?”

Oliver didn’t even glance up. “Yes. Stay out of sight and switch shifts often.”

Harry nodded at Asher. They both got what Oliver meant, and slipped out.

Oliver stayed behind in his study, drumming his long fingers on the desk—no pattern, just lost in thought.

The door creaked open.

He heard the footsteps and looked up, his eyes softening. “Josie.”

Josefina blinked, surprised. “How’d you know it was me?”

His expression and timing said it all—he’d recognized her the second she walked in, saving that gentle look just for her.

“I heard your footsteps. You walk nothing like Harry or Asher.”

Josefina laughed under her breath. No wonder Oliver was such a legend in business—he picked up on everything.

She crossed over and settled in his lap.

“So, what else can those super ears of yours pick up?” she teased.

Oliver’s hand slid up, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, “I can also hear if your heart’s racing.”

The tension between them thickened. Oliver’s hand tightened just enough to make Josefina let out a soft sound, her lips parting as she gasped.

“Oliver.” Her voice was playful, but there was something different there too.

He smirked. “Hmm?”

“You’re being naughty.”
