Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1269

Wilson shot Mr. Marquez a desperate look, practically begging for help.

He was hoping—no, praying—that Mr. Marquez would step in and say something on his behalf.

But...

Mr. Marquez didn’t even notice. He was too busy studying the silver acupuncture needles Josefina was using, his eyes narrowing with curiosity. The longer he stared, the more convinced he was that he’d seen a set like that somewhere before. These weren’t your everyday needles—they were special, no doubt about it.

Wilson blinked so fast he looked like he was about to twitch right off the spot, but Mr. Marquez still didn’t give him the time of day.

Mandy piped up, her voice just loud enough for everyone to hear, “Wilson, weren’t you the one who swore up and down you were a real man a minute ago? What’s up now? Changed your mind?”

“What are you talking about!” Wilson snapped, his face turning red.

Mandy raised her eyebrows. “Am I making things up? Seriously, guys, back me up here. Wasn’t Wilson the one bragging? Now he lost, and suddenly he doesn’t want to keep his promise. Is that what a real man does?”

The other students jumped in right away.

“Wilson, if you lost, just own it. Admitting you’re wrong and keeping your spot at school is still a win.”

“Look at Zachary—he’s grinning from ear to ear! His headache must really be gone.”

“Zachary came with Wilson, but now he won’t even stand near him. How’s Wilson not getting the hint?”

“I never expected Josefina to be this good. She’s got some serious skills.”

“Don’t forget, Walter himself came out to back Josefina and called her his student. Wilson really messed with the wrong person this time, challenging Walter’s protégé!”

All the chatter finally snapped Wilson back to reality.

Losing his temper was only going to make things worse.

Off to the side, Sandi stood frozen, pale as a ghost. It felt like every word was aimed right at her. She tried not to dwell on it, but her mind was spinning, replaying everything over and over. Her vision swam—she almost fainted.

Lydia quickly caught her arm. “Are you okay?”

Sandi jolted, then shook her head, trying to act calm. “I’m fine.”
