Dorian voiced his concerns, "Josie is young and innocent, never been in a relationship before. Oliver knows how to charm a young girl, I'm worried Josie might get hurt."
Without delay, Garrett decided to take action. "I'll give Oliver a call."
And true to his word, Garrett dialed Oliver right away.
Oliver's voice came through, "Hey Uncle, good evening."
"Oliver, you off to bed already?" Garrett inquired.
"Yeah, had a long day, hit the sack a bit early," Oliver replied, sensing something was off in Garrett's tone. He glanced at the girl beside him, a slight smile on his lips.
"I thought you were out having dinner with Josie tonight," Garrett continued, casting a glance at Dorian.
Oliver, keeping his cool, responded, "Didn't have dinner with Josie today." That was the truth.
He had indeed picked up Josefina but hadn't dined with her.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Garrett ended the call.
"Reid, you're overthinking it. Oliver said he didn't have dinner with Josie. Plus, Josie's at Livia's place. We're worrying over nothing."
Dorian, reassured, chatted a bit more with Garrett before heading upstairs to rest.
...
When Josefina woke up, it was 7 in the morning, her head throbbing and feeling out of sorts.
The shock hit her when she realized the person beside her was Oliver.
Seeing Josefina's face peek out from the blanket, looking utterly adorable, he continued, "I pulled you out of the tub and dried your hair. You were naked, and I dressed you in the dark. Josie, I didn't see anything."
Even with his excellent vision, Oliver insisted the darkness prevented him from seeing anything more than a brief glimpse of her skin.
Yet, Josefina remained upset, "Why didn't you take me home, Oliver? You had ulterior motives."
Oliver sighed, "Josie, remember you said you didn't want your family to see you drunk? That's why I didn't take you home."
Caught in an awkward situation, Josefina demanded, "Oliver, leave. I need to get dressed. I don't want to talk to you." She was convinced it was all deliberate.
Oliver, now standing in his shorts and bare-chested, made his way out.
Josefina buried her face under the blanket, feeling shattered. How did she end up sleeping in Oliver's bed, barely clothed?
