Josefina turned her head, sinking into the sofa with her arms crossed, giving Oliver a cold, indifferent stare as he tried to win her over.
"Oliver, what are you doing here so late? I'm not having midnight snacks; I'm on a diet."
Oliver scooted closer and plopped down beside her.
Just as Josefina was about to get up, Oliver wrapped his arms around her, his eyes full of affection. "Josie, what do I have to do to make you stop being mad?"
Before Josefina could answer, Oliver let her go, stood up, and started taking off his suit jacket.
He yanked off his tie, his slender, attractive fingers working the buttons on his white shirt.
The sight of his collarbone was unexpectedly sexy.
As Oliver unbuttoned his shirt one by one, Josefina panicked, "Oliver, what are you doing!"
"I'm taking off my clothes, okay?"
"Oliver, cut it out, that's not appropriate."
"I'm not being inappropriate, I just don't want you to be mad. Josie, I know you're still upset."
As Oliver started unbuckling his black leather belt, Josefina rushed over to grab his hand. "Oliver, stop undressing!"
Oliver's hands stilled, and he lowered his gaze to the visibly distressed Josefina, then smiled softly.
"Josie, are you not mad anymore?"
Josefina was speechless.
How could she stay mad?
If she kept it up, Oliver might end up standing in front of her in his birthday suit.
"Oliver, how can I stay mad? If I do, are you going to strip completely?"
"Josie, I was just trying to cheer you up. I hate seeing you upset."
Lost for words, Josefina inwardly cursed him.
Seeing Josefina no longer mad, Oliver's face broke into a smile, and he pulled her into his embrace.
Josefina sat opposite him, catching a glimpse of his provocative look, and silently lowered her head.
Was Oliver trying to tempt her on purpose?
Josefina picked up the iced coffee from the table and took a sip, then paused.
Wasn't she on a diet? Why did she just drink iced coffee?
┭┮﹏┭┮ Iced coffee tastes so good.
I'll start the diet tomorrow, I guess.
Josefina took another sip, the sweet iced coffee, she really liked it.
Then she bit into a perfectly grilled burger, so delicious.
Oliver watched Josefina eat, his heart and eyes filled with her.
As long as Josie wasn't upset, Oliver breathed a sigh of relief.
