Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 622

The phone buzzed again, a video call from Oliver lighting up the screen.

Josefina answered, and there he was, his handsome face tinged with a look of melancholy.

"Josie, why haven't you called me? It's been a hectic day. I was about to come pick you up when George told me you guys wrapped up the boot camp."

Oliver's voice carried a hint of sorrow, as if he had been wronged by Josefina.

"Something came up last minute, so I headed back first. Oliver, we've only been apart for a day, and you're already looking all forlorn."

"Josie, a day apart feels like ages. Don’t you miss me? Because I sure do miss you, every single day."

"Oliver, there's this saying: 'The grass is always greener on the other side, but once you have it, you take it for granted.'"

"Josie, you know that's not me. Do I look like that kind of guy?" Oliver's eyes were fixed on her through the screen, earnest and pleading.

Josefina, leaning casually against the couch, couldn't help but laugh. "Oliver, what are these wild words? I'm not signing up for any tests."

"I'll wait for you to see for yourself, Josie. My heart belongs to you alone," Oliver professed, his gaze filled with devotion.

She had to admit, Oliver had a way of looking at her that made it hard to look away.

"Oliver, have you eaten yet?"

"No, I was hoping we could eat together. Josie, would you join me for dinner?"

"Just stay put. I'll be there soon," Josefina ended the call, grabbed her skateboard, and headed out.

She arrived at Oliver's place in no time. Before she could even ring the doorbell, the gate swung open.

Josefina skated in, greeted by Oliver's beaming smile. He was dressed in a casual white shirt, the top buttons undone revealing a hint of tanned skin. The shirt was neatly tucked into his pants, held in place by a sleek black belt, his long legs moving gracefully towards her.

Under the streetlights, her shadow stretched long, a mischievous smile played on her lips as she raced towards Oliver on her skateboard.

With a barely-there smile, Oliver stepped onto the incoming skateboard, gliding towards Josefina. As they passed the flowerbed, he leaped off, landing smoothly right in front of her.

Josefina was taken aback; she hadn't expected Oliver to be adept at skateboarding. Caught in her surprise, Oliver was already there, leaning in to capture her lips in a kiss.
