Shay, feeling utterly defeated, sighed, "Mom, that Josefina is out to get me, probably trying to stick up for her best friend or something."
"It doesn't matter who's behind it; we need to get some solid evidence, or we won't be able to pin anything on her."
"So, what do we do? Just let her walk all over us?" Shay snapped back.
She recalled the social media stunt she pulled, posing as a business partner to connect with Oliver. But now, with things spiraling out of control, it was all too much for her. That sly fox, Josefina!
"Shay, sweetie, just keep calm, okay? Don't go picking fights with Josefina. If you stay under the radar, I can handle things," her mom reassured.
"What's your plan, Mom?"
"You just focus on getting better in the hospital. Leave the rest to me."
Shay went quiet, anxious to see how it would all play out.
...
Josefina, unaware that Oliver hadn't passed the message to the Harrison family, found herself heading to the bar Luke had mentioned. No calls from them yet, so she had some time.
As Josefina walked in, Luke was there, casually sipping his drink, and gave her a knowing look. She spotted a middle-aged man at the bar and positioned herself just right for him to notice her.
Sure enough, he soon approached, drink in hand, and sat across from her. "All by your lonesome tonight, beautiful?" he asked with a grin.
Josefina flashed a teasing smile, her charm impossible to ignore, "Do I look like I'm hanging out with ghosts?"
The man chuckled, "You're funny, really funny. I like that."
"Really? I hadn't noticed," Josefina replied with a playful smirk.
