Josefina shared the update with Oliver, her voice tinged with satisfaction, "Looks like Jane's packed her bags and left Westwood. Seems she figured out she's met her match."
Oliver chuckled, leaning back in his chair with a twinkle in his eye. "Seems like she realized she’s out of her league with you. Too scared to make another move, huh?"
Josefina, sprawled comfortably on the couch, gave him a playful look. "What, you think I'm some kind of she-devil?"
"Nah," Oliver's eyes softened as they locked onto hers, "I see you more as a queen."
Josefina stood up, brushing off her jeans. "I've gotta head out, can't hang around your office all day. Got a lab session this afternoon. You keep doing your thing."
As she headed out, the office door swung open, revealing Dominic mid-chat with George.
"I need to see Oliver, got some official business to discuss," Dominic said, his voice firm.
George, lounging in the doorway, crossed his arms. "Mr. Oliver's tied up with Mrs. Baldwin at the moment. Might want to swing by later."
Catching the conversation, Dominic turned just in time to see Josefina step out of Oliver's office, confirming what he'd suspected. The rumors were true; Oliver's feelings for Josefina weren't just a casual fling.
Already Mrs. Baldwin, huh?
Josefina took a couple of steps and paused, "I'm off then, George. You guys keep busy."
Without a glance in Dominic's direction, Josefina moved past, her indifference evident.
Dominic frowned, annoyed by Josefina's blatant disregard.
As Josefina disappeared down the corridor, George turned back to Dominic. "You can head in now."
The office door clicked shut behind Dominic, leaving him standing as Oliver sat, exuding authority.
