Brandon was lounging on the couch, letting out a resigned sigh as he caught sight of Oliver's expression.
"Oliver, I get it. Forgiveness for Rowan isn't on your agenda."
"If you already know that, why'd you come all the way to see me at work?" Oliver asked, setting his phone aside.
Brandon sighed again, with a bit more flair this time. "I just wanted to give you a heads-up. I know you're not big on social media. Without Josie, you'd probably never check your phone and miss all my messages."
Oliver just nodded. Truth be told, he wasn’t much into gadgets or the online world.
"I heard about it too, but honestly, it doesn't mean anything to me. He's him, and I'm me. We haven’t had a father-son relationship for ages, so why pretend?"
Brandon chuckled. "Look, I'm not here to talk you into forgiving him. I just want to remind you to stay cool, even if you can't stand him."
Brandon was worried that if Rowan did show up, it would end in a shouting match, giving folks something to gossip about.
"I hear you," Oliver replied, cool as ever.
Brandon backed off, sensing Oliver's resolve.
"So, when are you and Josie tying the knot? I want to get a jump start on preparations."
Oliver replied, "Go ahead and start planning, but Rowan's not invited. I don’t want him at my wedding with Josie, no way."
Brandon sighed inwardly but respected Oliver's decision.
"Your grandpa's got your back. I knew you wouldn't want him there. Don't worry, when you get hitched, I'll be there. He won't set foot in."
Oliver nodded, not adding anything more.
Brandon added, "You better put on your best behavior, Oliver. Get settled with Josie soon."
Again, Oliver just nodded, not in the mood for more talk.
Brandon took the cue and left.
