Percy totally got it; he could see the worry etched on Josefina's face.

"Sure, you can get a facelift, but you can't change your genes," Percy reassured her with a knowing smile.

Josefina nodded, her mind elsewhere. "Let's burn these things," she said, gesturing to the pile of papers on the table.

Percy took out his trusty lighter, flicked it on, and tossed the flame into the small metal bowl nearby, watching as the paper curled and blackened.

"How's Bobby's wound doing?" Josefina asked, changing the subject.

"It's healing up nicely," Percy replied. "He's well enough to be discharged, though he should avoid direct showers for a while. Infection, you know?"

"She wants out," Josefina said. "Make sure she knows the do's and don'ts. I'll cover the medical bills."

"Josie, don't worry about it," Percy waved her off. "I've already settled it. Just a drop in the bucket, really."

Josefina didn't argue, just thanked him and headed out of the hospital.

Josefina had a lab session at the university, and once she wrapped up her experiments, she was ready to leave.

Mandy caught up with her, linking her arm with Josefina's. "Josie, let's grab dinner tonight. I found this amazing place that does roast duck just right. You have to come with me!"

"Mandy, I'm swamped today, sorry about that."

"Josie, what are you so busy with all the time? Every time you finish at the lab, you're out the door like you're on the run. I was starting to think you didn't like dining with me," Mandy teased.

Josefina chuckled, a bit exasperated. "I really am busy. Between managing a fashion company, saving lives, and prepping for an upcoming conference, my schedule's packed."

Mandy's eyes widened comically. "Josie, you're like a superhero! How do you juggle all that without losing your mind?"

"If you need a hand, just holler. I'll work for you for free," Mandy offered with a grin.

Josefina laughed, "Thanks, Mandy, but I've really got to run."
