Josefina couldn't shake the feeling that Sydney and his crew wouldn't just disappear without a trace.
"After all the effort Sydney put into getting close to Rowan and taking control, there's no way he'd just walk away," she pondered aloud.
Oliver, casually leaning against the doorframe, nodded in agreement. "I'm with you on that. I've already got some folks looking into it, but nothing's come up yet."
Josefina lay back on the bed, turning to face Oliver. "What if Rowan decides to hand over all his shares to you? Would you take them?"
Oliver's face stayed unreadable. "Yeah, I would."
Josefina propped herself up on one elbow, giving him a curious look. "Really? I thought you'd say no."
"The company's shares... they're wasted on him."
"Yeah, they're definitely not safe with him," she agreed, getting up and stretching. "Come on, get up. I brought breakfast. Annika made it, and it's delicious."
But before she could move, Oliver playfully pulled her back, pinning her beneath him with a teasing smile. "Breakfast doesn’t hold a candle to you."
Josefina rolled her eyes, just about to shove Oliver off when Nanshan barged in.
"Nanshan, with a fierce look, stormed over and pulled Oliver off her. "Hey, don't bully my mentor!"
Josefina quickly stepped in, gently pulling Nanshan back. "Nanshan, it's all good. He wasn't bullying me."
Nanshan's sincere eyes locked onto Josefina. "But he was all over you, hurting you."
Oliver raised his hands defensively, "I wasn't hurting Josie."
"Then why were you on top of her?" Nanshan demanded.
Feeling awkward, Josefina ushered Nanshan out of the room. "So, have you had your breakfast?"
"Yeah, it was really good," Nanshan replied, plopping down beside her on the couch.
