Rowan's demeanor was downright terrifying. His hands were wrapped around Josefina's neck, squeezing with all his might, refusing to let go. Oliver, in a panic, pulled out a knife and slashed at Rowan’s hand, causing blood to gush out. Even with his hand injured, Rowan didn't flinch. Desperate, Oliver made another cut. The blood dripped down onto the white rug, creating a scene so shocking it was hard to look away.
Sydney quickly intervened, "Oliver, stop! You'll end up killing your dad! How could you slash his hand like that?" Dominic chimed in, "Is saving a woman more important to you than our father’s life?" "Both of you, shut up!" Brandon shouted, fear gripping him as he tried to hit Rowan with his cane, but it was no use.
Josefina felt life slipping away but, with a final surge of strength, she slowly raised her hand, driving a silver needle into Rowan’s forehead. He fell back, releasing Josefina. Oliver immediately gathered Josefina in his arms and laid her gently on the couch. "Josie," he said, concerned, his eyes red-rimmed with worry. She weakly waved her hand, signaling that she was okay.
But rage was boiling within Oliver, and he contemplated ending Rowan right then and there. Just then, Sydney began berating Oliver. "Dad, look at this! Oliver wants to kill his own father!" Dominic added his disapproval, "Grandpa, even if Dad did something wrong, he's still our father. Oliver can’t just try to kill him!"
Brandon, fed up, struck Dominic’s already wounded leg with his cane, making him wince in pain. "Shut up! You saw Rowan strangling Josie, and none of you did a thing! Your father’s a person, but my granddaughter-in-law doesn’t matter?" Dominic was convinced Brandon was hitting his leg on purpose, aiming to cripple him.
Brandon barked, "All of you, get out!" Bennett called in the guards from outside, who promptly ushered the trio out. Sydney was reluctant to leave, knowing that once out, she wouldn’t be able to keep her emotional connection to the parasite linked to Rowan. "Dad, I can’t go. I need to be here to look after Rowan." Ignoring her pleas, Bennett pushed her away. Sydney shot him a look before being dragged out.
Standing outside Brandon's house, Sydney turned to gaze back at it. Dominic shifted uncomfortably, his injured leg adding to his discomfort. Shay, worried, asked, "Mom, what do we do now? That old man only cares about Josefina, that little tramp. Dominic’s his real grandson, and he doesn’t even care." Sydney pointed out the harsh reality, "He’s got Oliver, so losing one grandson isn’t a big deal to him."
Especially since Oliver and Josefina could easily give him a great-grandchild. With that trump card, Brandon couldn’t care less about them. Sydney marched forward, her words sharp, "Don’t worry, they won’t have many happy days ahead." The others wanted to ask what she meant, but she wasn’t giving anything away.
Back at Brandon’s house, Josefina took a sip of warm water, with Oliver close beside her, watching her every expression. "Grandpa Brandon, I’m okay, really," she reassured, touching her neck gently. She continued, "The parasite’s host must be Sydney, otherwise, why else would Mr. Rowan become so agitated whenever she’s around?" Brandon and Oliver had already suspected this connection. Brandon spoke gravely, "I’ll have someone test them." Oliver added, "Sydney wouldn’t keep the parasite on herself. She’d probably pass it on to Dominic or Shay."
