Chapter 23-1
(Dustin’s POV)
I’m reviewing the quarterly reports when Parker bursts into my office without knocking.
“Dude,” he says, out of breath. “You need to see this.”
“See what?” I don’t look up from my laptop. “I’m busy, Parker.”
“Seriously. You need to see this right now.” He shoves his phone in my face.
I grab it, annoyed, ready to tell him off for interrupting me.
And then I see it.
Sabrina. My Sabrina. Dancing with some man on a cruise ship.

No, not just dancing. Pressed against him. Looking up at him with an expression I haven’t seen on her face in… God, I don’t even know how long.
And then they kiss.
It’s not a polite kiss. It’s not a friendly kiss.
It’s the kind of kiss that makes my vision go red.
“What the hell is this?” I demand, my voice coming out strangled.
“It’s from Jake’s TikTok,” Parker says, backing up slightly. “It’s already got like eighty thousand likes. Everyone’s talking about it.”
I scroll through the comments, my hands shaking with rage.
She’s glowing! Good for her!

Dustin is SEETHING right now I just know it
Jake really said ‘my mom deserves better’ and he was RIGHT
“This is fake,” I say, even though I know it’s not. “This has to be fake. Sabrina wouldn’t-she wouldn’t
move on this fast.”
“Dude, the video is clearly real. And according to the caption, they just met today. On the cruise. Your kid literally ran a contest to find his mom a new boyfriend.”
A contest.

Chapter 23-1
Jake ran a contest to replace me?

How could a five-year-old be capable of doing something like that? It must be Sabrina. She must be feeding my son lies, poisoning him against me. Making him think I’m so worthless that he went online and is now asking strangers to be his new dad.
The humiliation burns through me like acid.
I pull out my phone to check his social media account. I know he does video recordings of his
drawings sometimes and shares it on there. But it’s been a long time…maybe three, four, months…
since I last checked.
So you can imagine my surprise when I see how much his followers have grown, and how many people actually like his arts.
Is that kid really that good? I suspect they might be just humoring him, him being a kid and all, not wanting to hurt his feelings. But seeing this gives me a new idea.
Maybe I can try to get him to stay with me by promising to build him an art studio in the future. I don’t know if it’ll work, but like they say, it doesn’t hurt to try.
I’m still thinking about how to bring this up to Jessica when I see his post.
“That little-“I stop myself before I say something I’ll regret. “No, how can Jake do something like this? He’s just a kid who barely knows anything. This must be Sophia’s idea. I just knew that woman was up to no good. First, she instigates Sabrina and now turns Jake into-”
“Into what?” Parker raises an eyebrow. “A kid who wants his mom to be happy? Come on, man. You left Sabrina for Jessica. What did you think was going to happen?”
I glare at him. “I left her because Jessica is my soulmate. I never loved Sabrina the way I love Jessica. It was the right thing to do.”
“Then why do you look like you’re about to punch a wall?”
I’m not.
I’m just pissed. Seeing Sabrina with another man-some random guy who she probably doesn’t even know touch her-
No.
No, I don’t care. I don’t.
