Mom, Don't Cry! Here comes a new Daddy! novel Chapter 81

Chapter 81

(Freya’s POV)

6

I shouldn’t be looking at his’account.

That ridiculous page full of dinosaur paintings and cheerful updates about his “New Dad” and his “perfect life” with his mother.

But I can’t stop.

Ever since Ethan suspended me, ever since I lost access to his office and his schedule and his daily routine, Jake’s account has become my only window into Ethan’s life.

And I hate it.

Before Sabrina entered the picture, I didn’t care about Jake. Sure, Ethan followed his account. But he follows lots of accounts-business leaders, tech innovators, industry publications. One random kid’s art page didn’t seem significant.

But then that woman showed up. Sabrina Moore with her doe eyes and her victim complex and her complicated family baggage to snag Ethan’s attention.

And suddenly Jake wasn’t just some kid Ethan followed online.

He became the tool she used to trap him. The bait in her scheme to land a billionaire.

So yes, I resent that kid now. Resent him and his constant posts about how wonderful his new life is. How amazing his “New Dad” is. How happy his mother is

It’s sickening.

And it gets worse every day.

I’m scrolling through Jake’s latest livestream-the one where he painted that ridiculous dinosaur kingdom to “prove” his art is real-when I see the comments.

Thousands of them. All supporting him. All praising Sabrina for being such a good mother.

My fingers move automatically, typing before I can stop myself.

“This is obviously staged. No five-year-old paints like this. Sabrina Moore is a fraud using her kid for

attention.”

I hit post and immediately feel a dark satisfaction.

Then I type another comment. And another. Each one more vicious than the last.

I’m not the only one. Hundreds of other people are leaving negative comments too. Questioning Jake’s authenticity. Calling Sabrina a liar and a manipulator.

It feels good. Like I’m finally doing something instead of just sitting in my apartment obsessing over what

I’ve lost. And what’s mure, I’m not the only one who is finally seeing Sabrina Moore for the duplicitous slut she is.

But then, twelve hours later, my phone buzzes with an sss notification.

LEGAL NOTICE – DEFAMATION AND SLANDER

My blood runs cold as I open it.

It’s from Hale & Associates. One of the most powerful law firms in the city, and Ethan Hale’s private law firm. They sent me a legal notice for my comments on Jake Reed’s social media account?

How could he?

I was his secretary for over eight years, and he just sent me a legal notice for à bratty five year old he’s barely known for less than seven months?

I stare at the screen, my hands shaking.

The sss lists every single comment I made. Every insult. Every accusation.

And at the bottom, in bold letters: These statements constitute defamation of character and slander against both Jake Reed (minor) and Sabrina Moore. Cease all contact immediately or face civil litigation. He sent legal notices to everyone who left negative comments about Jake and Sabrina.

Including me.

The woman he worked with for eight years. The woman who’s been loyal to him since day one. The woman who loves him more than anyone else ever could.

Yet for that manipulative bitch…he sent me a legal notice!

Something inside me snaps.

I grab my phone and call the one person who’ll understand. The one person who hates Sabrina as much as I do.

Jessica answers on the third ring. “What.”

She sounds drunk. Or maybe just defeated. I don’t care which.

“We need to do something about Sabrina,” I say without preamble. “A permanent solution that’ll put an end to her story.”

“Freya, I already tried-”

“Your smear campaign didn’t work. We need to go bigger.” The words pour out of me, fueled by rage and jealousy and eight years of pent-up frustration. “We need to destroy her completely. Make sure Ethan loses all interest in her for good.”

Jessica is quiet for a moment. “What are you suggesting?”

Chapter 81.

4 m auquesting we give her the same treatment she deserves. Arrange for some men to-to take pictures. Cumprumising pictures. The kind that ruin reputations permanently.”

Another pause. Longer this time.

“You want to have her assaulted.” Jessica’s voice is flat, not shocked, as if merely stating a weather forecast.

“Yes! I want her to understand that she can’t just waltz into Ethan’s life and take everything from me!” My voice cracks. “She’s nobody. A divorced single mother with baggage. She doesn’t deserve him. She doesn’t deserve any of this!”

“And you do?”

“Why the hell not? I’ve been by his side for an entire eight years! Anticipating his every need, organizing his entire life, making myself indispensable in every way! And yet, he kicked me aside for a woman he barely knows!” I’m crying now, hot angry tears. “It’s not fair. It’s not right.”
