Chapter 55-1

Raven’s POV

Slowly, I began to stir awake, wondering if I was still dreaming, as a pair of familiar voices echoed through my bedroom window. As my eyes fluttered open, I realized that I was still in my red dress, tucked beneath my blanket in my bed. Faintly, I remember arriving home and Chance carrying me into the house, but I must have been so exhausted that I had fallen back

to sleep in his arms.

Sitting up, I pulled my curtain to the side, allowing me to peek out my window to see Chance and Cash shirtless, with shovels in their hands, working on my grandmother’s lane. I couldn’t help but stare at the two of them, as I watched them shovel gravel from the bed of the truck onto the lane. But it wasn’t what they were doing that captured my attention, but the way their muscles flexed as their tan flesh glistened in the sunlight, from beads of sweat rolling down their chests.

I swallowed hard, as heat instantly formed in my core, thinking about last night and the intimate kiss I had shared with Chance, as I began to fantasize about the two of us back in his truck again, while I felt the temperature in my body rise. Licking my lips, I swore I could still taste him, and as I brought my hand up to my lips, I felt like I could still feel his lips pressed against my own.

Tightening my thighs together, I tried to stop the throbbing now between my legs, yearning for attention, as my hand slowly moved from my lips and down my neck, while unholy thoughts began to run through my head, making me want to touch myself. But as my hand slid down my body to my breast, I heard my grandmother’s voice say, “Raven, your awake.”

Thankfully, I wasn’t facing her, but I still grabbed my blanket, pulling it up to cover myself, as I prayed to God that she didn’t just see me, before I turned to face her with my cheeks flushed

in embarrassment.

“Why don’t you get freshened up and take the boys out some cold sweet tea? I am sure they have to be parched by now.”

“I can do that.” I said to her as I bit my bottom lip, thankful that she must not have seen me.

With a quick cold shower, and a bit of prepping myself, I headed outside with two glasses of sweet tea in my hands, praying that I would get my raging hormones under control and not make a spectacle of myself.

Cash was the first to spot me, as a huge smile forms on his face, before sitting his shovel against the truck, while he jokingly says, “Sleeping Beauty decided to grace us with her

Smiling back at him, I handed him a glass of sweet tea, as he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me into a one-arm embrace, while I said to him, “I don’t know about the beauty part, but I definitely must have been exhausted last night.” As I turned to look at Chance, who was now propping his own shovel up against his truck, making his way to me.

“Nonsense.” He says as he grabs his glass of sweet tea from my hand, before he says, ‘

You’re the fairest of them all.”

“Alright you two. Do you have a sister I don’t know about?” I asked them, confused about what they would know about the princesses, as it wasn’t something boys normally would

watch as children.

“You didn’t know?” Cash asked me, making me look up at him, wondering if they did, but then he said to me, “We keep her locked away in the tower.” Before he burst out laughing.

Elbowing him a good one in the ribs, I stepped away from him, as Chance took that as his opportunity to pull me into his arms, while he said to me, “No, we don’t have a sister, but when Mazie was little, she used to force us to watch what she wanted to on the television.’
