Hesitant, I stared at the open door to the cabin, debating whether I could trust a man I had never met, even though he was of my blood. It was clear that he thought that my brothers and I should know the truth, unlike our father. Time was running out, just like he had said, and I knew if our father couldn’t confess the truth to us about what was really going on, there was only one other person that was going to.

Going against my wolf’s desire to head back home, I shifted into my human form, and began to walk towards the cabin, stopping at the foot of the steps, as I stared up at the open door. A sound once again came from the left of the cabin, making me turn my head to see two glowing golden eyes staring back at

Through our mind link, I asked Chase, “Are you coming with me?”

Once again, Chase didn’t answer me, but the two glowing golden eyes disappeared, while I heard his wolf take off, leaving me to believe that he was too chicken shit to face our uncle and find out the truth.

“Are you coming in? Or are you just going to stand out there?” My uncle called out from within the cabin, making me turn my attention back to the open door, realizing it was now too late to back out.

Taking a deep breath, I began to ascend the steps, as I became a bit nervous about meeting my uncle for the first time. Honestly, I didn’t know much about the man, as neither my father nor my grandmother had spoken much about him.

Moving now to the doorway, my uncle says to me, “I should have known that it would be the eldest of my nephews that approached me first, although Chase has been following me for days now on my patrol of our territory.”

“So, that’s where he has been.” I said sarcastically to my uncle as I stepped inside the dimly lit cabin, finally seeing him sitting on an old rocking chair, facing away from me, as if he didn’t want me to see his

scarred face.

“A head Alpha should always know where his brother Alphas are at all times. Maybe your father is right about you boys, and you aren’t ready for the truth.” He now says, as if to correct me, making my eyebrows furrow, as I wonder what all my father has told him about us.

“Chase is a loose cannon, and always has been, but I can ensure you that Cash and I are close, and we are on the same page of claiming Raven as our mate.” I explained to my unete, trying to argue my point, that I couldn’t help what Chase does.

My uncle let out a huff, as he slowly moved his head side to side, as if he wasn’t pleased by what I had just said to him. “You heard what I told your father, unless all three of you are on board with taking her as your mate, it will never complete the moon phase.”

“Moon phase?” I asked him, now curious, if this was what my father had been keeping from us.

“Your father doesn’t think you boys can handle the truth, but I, on the other hand, think it is time to tell you the truth about your heritage, before you all make the same mistake that your father and I had.” My uncle says, as he begins to slowly rock in his chair, making me move closer to him, as I ask him, “What is so bad, that my father thinks we can’t handle?”
