Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 157

Where is everyone?asked Chase, as I moved downstairs, hoping that someone was home to take me.

They all left a few minutes ago.Chase says blankly, as he stared at me, making me feel a bit uncomfortable, knowing that I was alone with him, especially after the encounter I had with him alone in the janitor’s closet.

I guess I’ll have to call Mazie.” I said as I went to pull my phone out of my pocket, trying to not only break the awkwardness I was now feeling around Chase, but knowing she was the only person I had left to drive me to the hospital.

Mazie is with my brothers.Chase tells me nonchalantly, just as I hit to call her number, but the call went right to her voicemail, telling me he was telling the truth, leaving me in a bit of a pickle.

Damn it. I guess I will have to drive myself.” I told Chase, as I moved towards the front door to put my shoes on, but as I made my way out to my car, I realized that my keys weren’t in it, and that Cash must have taken them into the house.

But as I turned back around to head inside, Chase stood there, standing in the doorway, with his arms crossed over his chest, blocking my way into the house, while he said to me, I can’t let you leave.

My eyes narrowed as I glared at him, wondering who the hell had died and made him boss of me all of a sudden. My grandmother was on her deathbed, and if he thought that he was going to tell me that I couldn’t go to her, he had another thing coming.

Not knowing how much time my grandmother had actually left, I pushed my way past him, as I said to him, I don’t have time for your shit Chase. I need to get to my grandmother.

Beyond frustration, I began to look all around the foyer, wondering where the hell Cash could have thrown my keys, while Chase just remained standing there in the doorway with his arms crossed like he wasn’t going to allow me back through.

He must have let me search for my damn keys for a good five minutes, before he held them up in front of him, jiggling them to get my attention, before he said to me, Are these what you are looking for?

A low growl rumbles from my chest, as I move towards him, beyond aggravated and infuriated that he had them this whole time, as those five minutes that had passed could be precious to seeing my grandmother alive again.

What the hell Chase? What part of my grandmother being in the hospital in the ICU aren’t you getting?I said now to him, through gritted teeth, as I moved to take my keys from his hand, but he closed his hand, sealing the keys within his palm and out of my reach.

Calm down. It’s not like I had them this whole time. I just spotted them myself, hanging on the wall with the rest of the keys.Chase says as he points to the wall by the coat rack, where I stupidly didn’t even look.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, knowing that I needed to tread lightly with Chase because there was no doubt in my mind that he was a loose cannon that could go off any minute if I rubbed him the wrong way.

With tears of frustration beginning to fall from the corners of my eyes, I did what I never thought I would

ever do with him, as I began to beg him, by saying, Please just give me my keys, Chase. No one needs to know that you ever saw me leave.

I can’t do that.He quickly comes back with, not giving my pleas, even an ounce of consideration.

Tears began to pour from my eyes, as I took a step back from him, feeling helpless and lost about what to do, because I didn’t feel like there was any way that I was going to stand a chance at winning this argument with Chase. Anger at that moment began to take over me, and I couldn’t control the hate that was forming in my heart towards Chase at that very moment. He knew the situation that was at hand, and he was still holding me here in his house against my will.

I found myself getting lost to the anger, and before I could stop myself, I said to him, Why do you even care if I leave or not? Isn’t that what you want from me? For me to leave and never come back, so that you can be with your precious Jessica.

A growl came from Chase with the mentioning of Jessica’s name before he stepped towards me with his eyes narrowed, clearly unhappy with me. Through gritted teeth, he says to me, Because i care about my brothers.

My eyes widened in shock, as I stared at him, not believing that he had just admitted that to me, because I honestly didn’t think he cared about anyone but himself.

Chase took another step towards me, this time leaning down, nuzzling his head against the side of mine, before he whispered to me in a low, deep voice, And trust me princess, you have no clue what I want.

I swallowed hard, as Chase’s head lingered right next to my own, while I felt his warm breath tickling my exposed flesh. Seconds passed by, as I stood there too afraid to move, because I honestly didn’t think I could control my body and its desires right now towards him. I was weakened by everything that had recently happened, and I didn’t have much fight left in me to resist whatever it was that he was doing to

  1. me.

Closing my eyes, I let more tears fall from the corners of them, as I counted the time that was now passing by, that I wasn’t on the road to get to the hospital. The word Pleaseslipped from my lips as a plea, as the tears now streamed down my cheeks like a river of sorrow.

Without warning, Chase swooped me up from where I stood, throwing me over his shoulder just like he had done on my first day of school, but unlike that first day, there was no one here to stop him.

Where are you taking me?I asked him, unable to see where he was carrying me too.

I waited for him to answer me, but in good old Chase fashion he remained silent until he opened the door to his jeep, tossing me into the passenger seat.

Oh hell no. I swore I would never ride with you again.I said to him, realizing what he was doing, but Chase just laughed off what I said to him, as he moved to buckle my seatbelt, as if that would hold me in.

The way I see it, princess, is that you either let me take you to see your grandmother or I lock you up in the house until one of your lover boys returns, which could be hours. So, it’s your call, which shall it be?
