Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 159

Chapter 84-2

Quickly I turned around and began to apologize, but as my eyes fell on the middleaged man that I ran into, something about him and his scent seemed rather familiar. Dressed in all black, he stood out like a sore thumb, especially with his dark hair slicked back, looking like he was not from this area. But it wasn’t just his style that caught me off guard, but the scar that ran down his cheek, almost mimicking the scar my

uncle had.

My eyes narrowed as I stared him down, while Inhaled a long whiff of his scent, but before I could exhale, I heard code blue ICU being called over the intercom, making us both turn to look inside the hospital. Instantly, I had a bad feeling, as my gut began to turn, almost making me bend a knee from the pain, but it wasn’t until I heard Raven’s screams did I realize that it was her pain that was now hitting me like a ton of bricks.

It was taking everything I had inside of me to hold back a growl that was rumbling in my chest, as I tried to remain standing upright on my feet, while I felt like I was absorbing her pain. As her screams disappeared from my ears, I slowly got my bearings, but as I went to fully stand back up, I realized that the man in all black had disappeared.

I turned to look behind me, positive I would see him in the parking lot, but to my surprise the man was nowhere to be found, leading me to wonder just how long I had been incapacitated by Raven’s pain. But just when I thought that another jolt of her pain hit me, this time like a tsunami, flooding me with pain that was so unbearable that it reminded me of my own.

Before I knew what I was doing, I found myself following Raven’s cries, as my heart felt like it was breaking into a million little pieces from feeling her pain as my own. As I raced down the hallway, I could see Raven’s petite figure come into my view as someone looked to be trying to comfort her, but it was clearly not working. Her knees were bent, and the person in front of her looked like she was trying to hold her upright, as Raven looked to have given up on life completely.

I got her.” I told the woman, as I reached down, picking Raven up in my arms.

Raven uncontrollably sobbed in my arms, as she held onto me for dear life, making my heart ache even more for her, especially when I faintly heard her say, She’s gone.

If there was anyone that could relate to the pain that Raven was feeling right now, it would be me, as her pain felt so similar to my own, losing my mother. But Raven’s pain of losing both her parents was still so fresh, and I knew that the majority of the pain she was feeling right now was stemming from their loss, as I knew that Raven and her grandmother had had an estrange relationship. Unfortunately, even though this was true, her loss was too much for Raven to bear, as she had suffered far too much loss for someone her

age.

Raven’s tears now dampened my shirt, as I held her closely to my chest, while the woman ushered us into a private room, giving Raven privacy to grieve the loss of her grandmother. Honestly, though, I didn’t know how she was ever going to recover from this, as I knew how unstable she still was with the loss of her parents. Now losing the only living relative that she had left, this could seriously put her over the edge that she was teetertottering on when she had arrived here.

As I held Raven tightly in my arms, another woman came in, dressed in scrubs with a syringe in her hand, and I didn’t have to ask what it was for, as I knew that it was for Raven to calm her down. A part of me hesitated to allow them to pump her full of drugs, but the reasonable side of me knew that she needed

help to calm her down, and that I wasn’t capable of doing it, even though she was still clinging onto me Tike a lifeline.

Right now, I was wishing that I had just locked her up inside the house, because then maybe one of my brothers would have been back by the time she had gotten the call about her grandmother. There was no doubt in my mind that one of them would do a better job at comforting her, because right now I felt like I was majorly failing at it, as her sobs were filled with endless sorrow that was tugging at my soul.

Thankfully, whatever the nurse had given Raven kicked in within a matter of a minute, and her heartfelt cries of pain simmered to just muffle sobs, as her eyes closed, taking her into never neverland.

I will send the doctor in.The nurse said to me, as I held Raven’s shivering body in my arms, wishing that I could take her pain away from what she was feeling right now, but I knew better than anyone that there was nothing that would ever take it away.

I took a seat on the small loveseat in the room with Raven in my arms, as I tried to make it more comfortable for her. But as I looked down at her beautiful face, pushing away the hair that was stuck to her cheeks from her tearstained skin, my heart broke into a million little pieces for her, knowing she had nothing left in this world but my brothers and me.

For the first time since Raven arrived, I allowed the wall I had put up to come down, allowing all her pain to flood into me freely, knowing that this was the least I could do for her. As I began to absorb her pain, I realized that it felt so much like my own, making the two of us not so different after all.

The door to the small private room opened at that moment, and the scent of his wolf hit me, before I raised my head to see a man in a doctor’s uniform walking in, making me realize this must be the doctor that Cash had told us about this morning.

I am sorry for your mate’s loss. I honestly don’t know what happened. Ms. Wilson was doing so well this morning that I was about to call you with the great news, but her son came to visit. Unfortunately, shortly after he left, she took a turn for the worse.

My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at the doctor, confused as hell, because I had no knowledge of Ms. Wilson ever having a son, and something told me that not even my father knew about this one, adding a whole new player to this mystery we had going on.
