Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 161

Chapter 85-2

Are you sure that’s what he said? That he was planning on staying?I asked the doctor, realizing if this man actually was Ms. Wilson’s son, and he did have a wolf, then my brothers and I might have a major problem on our hands, one even bigger than the one we currently have.

I’m positive that is what he said. The doctor confirmed, verifying to me that we do indeed have another Alpha on our hands, one that I would have never foreseen in a million years.

Thank the Moon Goddess that there were three of us, because, by the way, it was starting to look, it was going to take all of us and a damn miracle to walk away from this disastrous of a mess that just keeps growing by the day. I knew there was a reason why I wanted nothing to do with Raven in the first place, and I was starting now to see that my intuition about her being nothing, but trouble was spot on, but holding her in my arms like this, I couldn’t just walk away.

Now that Ms. Wilson was gone, Raven literally had no family left, and if it wasn’t for this socalled uncle of hers who had just showed up out of nowhere, she would have been left as the head of her family. As I processed that thought, I realized that this wasn’t just a fluke, that this man just showed up out of nowhere, but that he showed up just at the precise time to claim what he thought belonged to him.

Looking down at Raven, I could tell that the drugs had fully kicked in and that she would be out for a few hours, giving me time to try and track down this man who claimed to be her uncle.

As an idea formed in my head, I looked up at the doctor before I demanded from him, I need a secure room for Raven, and I need you to keep her sedated until I return for her.

The doctor nods his head, as he says to me, Of course, young Alpha. Anything you need.

I was hoping you would say that, because I also need to know what form of payment this Alpha Klaus used to pay for Ms. Wilson’s bill, along with access to a computer.

You may use my office, and I can get the information about the form of payment he used from the database for you.” The doctor tells me, as he moves to usher me towards the door, and then down a series of hallways away from the hustle and bustle of everything.

As we moved down the hallway, I took note of all the doors that were now all labeled with doctorsnames, making me realize that we were in the private sector of the hospital. As I read some of the names on the doors we passed by, thinking how human they sounded, Raven began to stir in my arms at that moment, as tiny sobs began to slip from her lips, and I watched a tear fall from the corner of her eye.

The doctor must have noticed her sobs, because he turns slightly and says to me, It seems she has burned off the dose I had prescribed for her. Her Alpha side is much stronger than her grandmother’s wolf side was, giving me hope that her test results will come back good. But for now, I am going to have to up her dose if I am to keep her sedated.

I wondered if this was a good thing or a bad thing, as it didn’t sound good that she was burning through the medication that was to keep her sedated. I began to wonder if we should just let her awake and deal with the pain, but I knew one of my other brothers would be better equipped to deal with her in her state.

The doctor finally came to a halt in front of an office door, and I took note of the name etched into the gold plate hanging on the door, as I turned to look at him, unlocking it, wondering how a wolf doctor had such a human surname. There was no questioning that he had a wolf, as I could sense his wolf’s

presence, but I was now questioning if he too could possibly be a halfling.

think it might be better if we keep Ms. Knight in my office for the time being, seeing how the hospital might think it’s unethical to keep her sedated.” He tells me, as he moves to clear off a leather couch in his office for me to lay her down on.

Honestly, I was okay with the idea of her staying in his office, as it was clear this area didn’t receive high traffic, leaving it less likely for someone like a damn rogue to stumble upon her. Once the couch was cleaned off, I gently laid her petite body down on it, as the doctor rushed back with a freshlooking pillow and blanket in his hands.

She should be comfortable here for now, but I need to go and get her another dose of a sedative before this one completely wears off.The doctor told me while he fluffed a pillow to put it under her head, making me raise her head just enough to put it beneath it.

Once Raven looked comfortable on the couch, the doctor moved fowards the door without saying another word, shutting it behind him, leaving the two of us alone in his office. Of course, my eyes began to wonder around his office as his surname was still rubbing me the wrong way.

The first thing that I noticed was that there wasn’t a single picture in his office, but then, of course, that could be due to him being single, which after speaking with him for the short period of time that I had, there was no wonder why he was.

Raven turned on her side at that moment and snuggled to the back of the couch, pulling the blanket up around her neck, making me feel free to look a little further around the room. Moving to his desk, nothing seemed out of the normal, as sticky notes were stuck to the monitor and an appointment book lay open on top of it.

I barely glanced at the appointment book, thinking little to nothing about it, but something at the last moment caught my eye, as I scanned the rest of the desk. In big bold print, at the top of the current month, the word vacation was written as plain as day, making me question now why the hell the doctor was even

here.

I don’t know why, but at that moment, I began to rummage through his desk drawers, looking for anything that looked off, and that was exactly what I found in the bottom left drawer as I pulled out a picture frame with a family portrait in it. The man pictured in the photo was clearly not the doctor, escalating my suspicions about whom this man was that was portraying to be Ms. Wilson’s doctor to my brother and me, but most of all, why did he want to test Raven’s blood?
