“She may have made me an offer in the cemetery the day I was attacked, but I believe she made it because she was trying to protect everyone around me.” Raven finally said innocently to me, but she had no clue what a mother would do to ensure her daughter the position of Luna in a pack, but we all did, and we also knew how conniving Mrs. Jacobs could be.

“What did she offer you?” I asked Raven, trying not to lose my cool, as this was the first time I had heard about this, and I knew that Mrs. Jacobs couldn’t be up to anything good.

Raven looked away from me, as if she couldn’t look me in the eyes to answer me, leaving me to wonder if she had been considering her offer. Finally, she says to me, “She offered to set me up back in California with my own place and a private school for the rest of my senior year, providing me with all the courses that I need to keep my early acceptance into Berkeley.”

A growl radiated from my chest, knowing that that bitch went behind our backs trying to eliminate our mate from the equation. It was a pure act of treason, especially since she knew that Raven was to be her true Luna. Mrs. Jacobs was going to pay for this, and she was going to be punished to the fullest for her actions.

“What was your answer to her offer?” Cash asks Raven, as the look of dread fills his eyes, knowing that our mate had an out and could leave at any time to fulfill her dreams of going back to California.

Raven’s eyes moved from Cash to me, before she looked at Mazie, as we all just stood there waiting in anticipation of her answer, wondering where she stood on this offer, because we all knew that this was what she so desperately wanted when she had arrived.

But to all of our surprise, Raven shrugs her shoulders, like it was no big deal, as she says, “I never gave her an answer. Mazie showed up right after she made the offer.”

Cash turned to look at me, and I knew what he was thinking even before he sent me a mind link saying, “How ironic that Mrs. Jacobs was in the cemetery the same day Raven was attacked, and that she made her an offer to leave town. Are we sure that this Rogue Alpha doesn’t have someone like Mrs. Jacobs working for him within our pack? I mean, isn’t it also ironic that Raven was attacked on school grounds twice now, and that Mrs. Jacobs is the principal.”

It was definitely suspicious, that was for sure, but I knew that we couldn’t convict her on just the evidence of her being there, or because of where the attacks happened. We needed hard evidence that Mrs. Jacobs was somehow connected to the Rogue Alpha, but doing so might not be too easy, especially if she was able to do all of this under our father’s and uncle’s

noses.

On the other hand, it was clear that our father and his brother had a one–track mind when it came to getting revenge for what happened all those years ago, and I was wondering if they were even seeing the bigger picture at hand. My uncle himself had even said that things had changed with Ms. Wilson from the previous Rogue Alpha Kings attacks, making me believe that something within our pack had to of changed too.

Turning my attention back to Raven, I said, “You’re right. I think we all need to work together, and I think we do need to speak to Mrs. Jacobs and see what it is that she knows.”

“Are you kidding me? Speak to Mrs. Jacobs? That woman should be held accountable for treason…” Mazie began to say, but I quickly turned to give her a look to shut her up, because we hadn’t come forward with Raven just yet about our world.

Unfortunately for us, Mrs. Jacobs had given Raven an easy escape plan from our world, and it scared the shit out of me to know that at any given moment, Raven could leave here without word, just like her mother had done all those years ago. After the past couple of days that she had, I was now more worried than ever that this fear of mine would come true, especially now that her grandmother was gone, and her eighteenth birthday was right around

the corner.

My brothers and I needed to step up our game if we were going to fully win her heart, and ultimately convince her to stay here with us, making her our Luna. But now that we knew that Raven was actually one of us, we needed to somehow ease her into our world, not only to

convince her of what we were, but that she was one of us too.

Unfortunately, right now wasn’t the right time, and even though I knew that Cash wanted nothing more in this world than to come clean with her, we needed to find out first what Mrs. Jacobs knew before we opened our world up to Raven.

“Fine. But we do this together, just like you said.” Cash says, agreeing with me, knowing what I was thinking, as we all moved to head to Mrs. Jacobs‘ house, not wanting to waste another

second of time.
