Chapter 95-1-
Chapter 95-1
Raven’s POV
I sat there for a moment listening to Chance’s request that we stay in the truck, but as I sat there something inside of me snapped, making me disobey his request by getting out of the truck. After the da that I had, and after just listening to Mrs. Jacobs babbling bullshit, I had had enough, and I was done sitting around and being the damn victim. If someone was serit here to finish the job that was started at the hospital, I wanted to be the one that looked the bastard in the eyes, and make him pay for stepping o my family’s property.
“Raven, where are you going?” Mazie called out just above a whisper to rne, as she got out of the truck too, quickly moving to my side, while I picked up a shovel that one of the boys must have left behind whil working on the lane the other morning.
“I’m not just going to sit inside the truck like a sitting duck. Besides, I am done with all this bullshit.” I told Mazie as I walked towards my grandmother’s house.
It had been a good minute since I watched Chance and Cash disappear around the side of the house, making me wonder if they had found the intruder. Not taking any chances, I raised the shovel above my head as we rounded the corner of the house, ready to take a swing at the bastard and make him pay. But as we moved around the side of the house, I froze in total shock, seeing the sight before my eyes.
It took me a good moment to process what I was seeing, as I never in a million years would have thought that these two of all the people on this planet would be here in Beaumont.
“Lexi, no!” Finally came from my lips, as I realized that she was tasing the hell out of Chance, who had Jacob pinned to the ground.
My eyes then moved to her other hand, which held a shiny object in it, pointed directly at Cash’s neck, and I shook my head at her, realizing how much of a badass my friend truly was.
Lexi’s head turned at that moment to look at me, as her eyes widened as she saw me standing there with a shovel raised above my head, making me realize that I needed to lower it because there was no threat here. As I lowered the shovel, Lexi simultaneously removed the taser from Chance’s back and the shiny object from Cash’s neck as she yelled out to me, “Surprise!” While she held her hands in the air, displaying her line of defense against the Ryder brothers.
୮
“Friends of yours?” Cash asked as he rubbed his neck, before he moved to help Chance up from on top of Jacob, who laid there on his back with a big old smile on his face, which I’m sure was from the hunk he had lying on top of him.
Lexi let out a huff, before she says, “Friends? When the hell did we get put in the friends’ zone?” As she shoved her defensive toys back into the bag that was over her shoulder, before she stepped towards me, wrapping her arms around me, pulling me into a bear hug.
I had to admit I was taken off guard by her and Jacob being here, as it had been since before the accident that I had seen either of them. Neither of them had come to the juvenile mental institution to see me, and I had to wonder why on earth the two of them would travel clear across the country to see me now, if they couldn’t travel just an hour to do so.
“What are you doing here?” I asked her, as I pulled away from her embrace, wondering how the two of

them found me out here in the middle of God’s country.
“Hello… Your birthday is this weekend, and we would never miss it.” Jacob says as he gets to his feet finally, making his own way to me, before pulling me into a huge ass hug, as he showered me with kisses.
