Chapter 97-2
Chapter 97-2
They had already killed off Raven’s last living relative, leaving her the last of her bloodline, and I was g to make sure that the Wilson’s bloodline carried on, as losing Raven wasn’t an option.
My father let out a full-on growl, before he charged at me, pinning me against the wall, as he said to m through gritted teeth, “You don’t think I know what I have lost. Trust me, I live with the pain of it every d and now having to see Raven, it’s like a constant reminder of it. But you have no clue what the hell is g on around here, and you and your brothers aren’t remotely ready to handie what is coming.”
“Just like you and your brother weren’t ready for it all those years ago. Why are you allowing history to repeat itself?” I asked him, wanting him to know that it wasn’t too late, and that if he would just let my brothers and me in on what was going on, then we had a better chance this time to stop it.
My father released his forearm from across my chest, as he took a step back from ine, while he ran his hand back through his tousled hair, pushing it back into place. Shaking his head, he stepped away from me, as he began to look around the room, and the stern look on his face siowly began to disappear.
Finally, he says to me, “I was hoping that you and your brothers would never have to deal with this. I pray that the sacrifices that were made all those years ago would have been enough to stop this from ever happening again, but we were clearly wrong.”
“Sacrifices?” I asked him, knowing that my uncle playing dead was one of them, but by the way he was talking, there was more than one sacrifice that was made.
I was now curious if he too made sacrifices just like his brother had, and if so, what were they? It was clear now that he and my uncle had interfered with whatever his father and uncle had tried to do to stop from happening, and I had to wonder what they did in an attempt to stop it themselves, as it was clear th it didn’t work.
A sober look formed on my father’s face, before he said to me, “I loved your mother, and she blessed me with three amazing sons, so please don’t think what I am about to say is in any way dishonorable to her memory.”
I nodded my head at my father, letting him know that I would never think that way, as I knew that he loved my mother. There wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t see the pain in his eyes from losing her, and I knew it killed him that he wasn’t able to save her.

Seeing that I understood, he continued to say. “Before your mother, you already knew that Raven’s mother, Carla, was my fated mate. My mother would tell me stories of how our two families would one day be united as one, and that it would cleanse the pack of the evil that tried to take it from us. When Carla became of age, there was no doubt in my mind that she was my mate, as I could feel an immense pull towards her, but her wolf remained dormant inside of her, just like her mother. I could overlook that, but my brother, who was firstborn, wanted a strong mate by his side. He loved Carla just as much as I did, but he also wanted to draw her wolf out. I don’t know why, but I agreed to go along with his plan, knowing that if I wanted her as my mate, then he too had to accept her.”
“You both marked her without her consent.” I said just above a whisper, as I realized that my father had done the same thing that his brother had done.
“Unfortunately, yes, but things didn’t happen the way you would have thought they would. Carla’s wolf didn’t show itself to us, leading us to believe that we had failed at our attempt.” He tells me, as he moves

to a shelf on the wall, plucking a small picture frame from it.
He stood there staring at the picture for a moment, while I patiently waited for him to finish his story, needed to know what exactly pulled her wolf forward so that we could do the same to Raven.
Placing the picture back on the shelf, he finally continues by saying, “But we were wrong. We didn’t fai bringing her wolf forward. What we had failed at was having her wolf and her accept us as their mate
Confusion took over, as I didn’t understand what he was saying. If it had worked, then Carla had left h all those years ago with her wolf, rejecting my father and my uncle as her mates.
Seeing the confused look on my face, my father continued to say to me, “Raven isn’t part of this pack, neither was her mother. What your uncle and I failed at was thinking that our mate would just accept because it was fated to be. What we didn’t know back then was that Carla wasn’t just of the Wilson’s Alpha bloodline. She had another Alpha bloodline that ran through her veins, orre that belonged to no pack. Combined, Carla’s bloodline was stronger than any other bloodline we had ever seen, and it was something that could be easily controlled.”
My father looked away from me towards Ms. Wilson’s corpse, and I could see pure sadness now in his eyes. As if he was talking to Ms. Wilson instead of me, he says, staring straight at her, “I failed Carla, an by doing so, I failed you and my pack. I will not fail again.” As if he was making one last vow to her.
Turning to now face me, my father didn’t hold back, as he said to me, “I told you not to make the same mistakes as I had. The way I see it is that you have two choices. Either you and your brothers come clea with Raven about our world and let her choose if she wants to be a part of it, or you let her go back to California, where she is far away from our world, and safe from them. If you don’t choose, I will be force to send her back, as I need to make sure I protect the pack first above everything else.”
I stared at my father and realized he was giving me an ultimatum. What he didn’t know was that we had already decided to talk to Raven and come clean about who we were. Unfortunately, every time we decided to, something crazy like this happens, forcing us to put it off, but I knew that he was right, and th we needed to come clean and let her decide for herself what she wanted, even if it wasn’t us.
