Chase’s POV

“Who the hell are they?” I asked as I stared at two strangers sitting at the island in our kitchen, eating our damn food that smelled absolutely tempting after the day that I had.

“Language.” My grandmother says, not even turning to look at me, as she continues to fry up what looks and smells like a steak on the stovetop, while Mazie finally answers my question by saying, “This is Jacob and Lexi. They are Raven’s friends from California.”

Of course, my eyes went straight to Jacob, as I eyed him up, wondering if his and Raven’s relationship was strictly friends or if there was more between the two of them, but it didn’t take me long to realize he was more interested in me, as he asks, “Wait, there’s three of you?” Giving me a not–so–subtle look back, before muttering under his breath to the girl named Lexi, “I think I’m moving to Beaumont.”

I watched as Lexi’s eyes roamed to look at Mazie at that moment, and it didn’t take me long to figure out that she was secretly checking out Mazie, leading me to wonder if Raven was a magnet to those liking the same sex. Either way, to each their own, and if anything, maybe Mazie might finally get laid, making her not so damn bitchy.

My grandmother turned at that moment, plating a steak on a plate in front of me, as she said to me, “I can hear your stomach rumbling from over there. You need to remember to eat, because right now, you need your strength more than ever.”

I looked down at the huge juicy steak on my plate, done just the way I liked it, but there was no way I was going to sit around the island with these three and eat. Hell, I could barely sit around a table with my own family to have a meal, not alone two complete human strangers that shouldn’t even be here, making me wonder what the hell they were doing here in the first place.

Right now, it wasn’t a good time for them to be here on a sleepover trip, as we had dangerous rogue Alphas on the loose on our territory, trying from what I am gathering to take over our pack. How many rogue Alphas I do not know, but by the way, the man at Mrs. Jacobs’s house was talking, there had to be a couple of them, all with their own plans for taking over our pack.

As for me needing my strength, my grandmother couldn’t be closer to the truth, as I needed it for what I was about to do tomorrow, hopefully eliminating one of the rogue Alphas myself. But as i took the steak knife and fork into my hands, leaning over the plate to cut a big juicy chunk off, the aroma of the steak wasn’t the only scent to hit my nose.

An uncontrollable growl rumbled from my chest, as I put down the steak knife and fork, leaving the kitchen abruptly, not able to resist the sweet aroma scent of honey that now intoxicated the entirety of the house. I found myself taking the stairs two by two, unable to resist the pull of her scent, as I now made my way down the hallway towards our bedrooms, finding myself stopping in front of Cash’s door, as a moan from her lips slips through the slightly ajar door.

Unable to control myself, I quietly pushed the door open, just enough to see Raven with her legs locked around Cash’s waist, as he held her petite body pinned to the far wall, while his lips devoured her neck. Raven’s eyes remained closed as her head was leaning back against the wall, while more soft moans slipped from her lips, acting like a damn beckoning call for me to come to her, but I refrained myself from doing so.

Instead, I stood there in the doorway, just watching, as I licked my lips, thinking about how good she had Tasted that day in the janitor’s closet, while I began to fantasize that it was me that had her body pinned to the wall. Never had I denied my attraction to Raven, as she was my fated mate, nor did I deny that my body yearned and craved to be with her, whether I wanted to be or not.
