Unfortunately, it was a bit too late for that, as he began to lose himself to his wolf, and I don’t think he could stop the shift if he wanted to, as it was clear that he needed to blow off some steam, from whatever it was that was bothering him.

Taking a step back, giving him space, not wanting to get into a dog fight right outside the house with Raven inside after everything she had been through in the last couple of days, I gave him the space he needed to shift. It was clear he didn’t need me to push him anymore than what he had already been pushed today, as he needed to calm down and take a deep breath and maybe go for a much–needed run.

But as he shifted, the sound of someone walking towards the barn caught my attention, making me look outside the barn door opening to see Raven making her way down towards us.

My eyes moved between Cash’s wolf and Raven, and I knew there was no way that Cash had time to shift back or hide at this point, as she was now only feet from the entrance of the barn. The sound of her feet kicking up gravel caught Cash’s wolf’s attention finally, making him turn his head to face her.

Instantly, Raven came to a halt, as her eyes widened in fear as she stared directly into the barn at Cash’s wolf.

It was crazy to think that Cash and Chance thought that I was going to be the one to out us to Raven, but here it was Cash who was the one that had lost his temper, shifting only feet from the house, knowing that Raven and her California friends were inside.

Instantly, I could feel Raven’s fear hitting me like a ton of bricks, and I worried that this was what was going to push her over the edge of losing her shit. Thinking quickly on my feet, I stepped around Cash’s wolf, and ran out of the barn towards Raven, placing myself between Raven and Cash’s wolf.

“Chase, watch out!” Raven called out to me, like she was concerned about my well–being, as her eyes remained glued at the entrance of the barn.

Immediately, I realized exactly what Raven was seeing, or should I say only what she was seeing, as you couldn’t see Cash’s wolf, but just his two golden eyes glowing within the shadows of the barn.

Remembering how Raven responded to my wolf and knowing that Cash’s wolf and mine were identical in color, I mind linked Cash, “You’re scaring the shit out of her. You need to step out of the darkness and allow her to see your wolf.”

Cash’s wolf let out a growl, and Raven’s petite body began to shiver, as I watched her try to take a step back, but her body was frozen in fear.

“Cash!” I yelled out to him through the link once again, trying to get his attention, before I said to him, “Get your shit together now, or she is never going to stay here and accept you as her mate.”

Another growl came from the barn, but this time it was even lower than the first growl, telling me that whatever I had just said to him struck a nerve. Tears instantly began to pool in Raven’s eyes, as the fear of

her God was now in them.

I hated the fact that the fear that she was feeling was being caused by my brother, and I felt like I needed to do something to take that fear away, because I knew that my brother was going to regret this when he

came around to his senses.

Knowing that there was only one thing at this moment that I could do to ease her fear, I closed the distance between us, wrapping her up in my arms, as I said to her, “Please don’t be afraid.”

Claim

Raven’s body shivered in my embrace, while her eyebrows furrowed as she stared up at me, like she was confused by my words, which she had every right to be confused with Here I was, asking her not to be afraid of the same kind of creature that had just attacked her days ago, knowing how fresh it had to still be in her head.

All of this would be so much easier if my damn brothers would just come clean with her about our existence. I had no clue what the hell they were waiting for, as it was clear that she cared about them both, and I honestly didn’t foresee her leaving here, especially now that she had no one but them.

My eyes darted from Raven’s eyes back to Cash’s glowing eyes inside the barn, and I realized that I had one card left up my sleeve that I hadn’t played with him just yet.

With a serious tone, one that I rarely use, I say through our mind link, “Either show yourself to her, or I am going to tell her the truth.”

My eyes remained locked on Cash’s wolf’s eyes, as I held Raven tightly to my body, while I prayed that my threat would be enough to bring his ass to his senses. I had enough of all these damn games that were being played, as I felt like she had the right to know what she was up against if she was staying here.

But right now, it was in Cash’s hands whether I would tell her the truth right here and now, as all he had to do to stop me, was step out of the darkness that he remained hidden in.
