Chapter 111-1
Chase’s POV
The dismissal bell rang, making my wolf’s head snap towards the school, just in time to see the doors to the school being pushed open. As normal, my fellow peers rushed out of the school straight towards their vehicles in the parking lot, and it didn’t take long for me to spot Jessica with her normal group of friends, bringing up the rear.
My eyes moved back and forth between Jessica and her group of friends to Mazie with Raven’s friends from California, noticing that both groups were slowly moving straight towards each other. Movement from within the forest by Jessica’s car became more visible, and I knew it was just a matter of time before the rogue emerged from within the forest’s shadows to follow through with the planned attack.
Unfortunately for me, I had two humans in our school parking lot, that Mazie so inconveniently placed in the middle of what was about to go down. I had thought, since Raven was preoccupied with my brothers, that I wouldn’t have to worry about being seen and that I could make a statement to the rogues, but now I had to worry about two dipshit friends of Raven’s seeing me, all thanks to Mazie.
I mean, what the hell were they even doing here in the first place? Who the hell takes out of towners to a damn school for a tour, because that was exactly what it looked like she was doing.
More movement at that moment came from within the forest, and I knew that I had to make a decision at this very moment whether I was going to expose myself to Raven’s friends or not. I couldn’t even imagine what the damage control on this one was going to be, and I knew that I was going to be in a shit ton of trouble once my father found out that I was involved, especially after he had given Cash the third degree this morning about shifting with guests at our house.
But I knew that if I let this rogue make a statement here today, among all my peers at school, I would be allowing him to succeed in sending a message of fear throughout our pack. There was no doubt in my mind that that message would lead to members of our pack questioning if my family could keep them safe, which I couldn’t allow to happen, especially on my watch.
Knowing that the repercussions from my father were no match to the damage that this rogue could cause, I made my decision. Slowly, I began to stalk towards our little rogue guest, trying to keep in the shadows myself, not wanting to expose myself just yet, as I watched Jessica and her friends getting ready to pass Mazie with Raven’s friends. My only hope now was that Mazie picked up her pace, leading them inside the school, before shit went down.
But I should have known that Jessica couldn’t let well enough be, because as soon as she intercepted Mazie and Raven’s friends, she came to a complete halt, as she looked to be questioning them.
1 rolled my damn eyes at her as I let out a huff, thinking that this couldn’t be happening right now, before my eyes moved back towards the shadows where I was sure now that the rogue was awaiting her. A pair of glowing red eyes slowly appeared from within its shadows, focusing straight on Jessica, telling me that this rogue wasn’t going to wait for anyone to get out of his way.
Pight now, I could have used Cash by my side, as he and Mazle shared a connection I could really use night now to tell her to get Raven’s friends the hell out of the way But unfortunately, I was in this alone, and I was going to have to compromise.
Knowing if I let out a warning how, I would most likely scare away the rogue too, so instead I decided to
shoot out a mind link to Cash, only saying to him, “Tell Mazie to run!”
One would have thought that my message was loud and clear what I needed him to do, but of course, this was Cash, and his dumbass came back to me with, “What the hell is going on?”
