Thankfully, most of the chaos was located near the back of the parking lot towards the woods, making me realize that was where the rogue wolves must have started their point of attack. It made sense, because I was sure within the shadows of the trees they would have been able to hide until the students made their way towards them, and they took them all by surprise.
What I didn’t understand was why, all those years ago and now, these rogue wolves were focused on the younger generation. I would have thought their beef would remain with those that had survived, whatever it was that happened all those years ago, but for some reason their beef seemed to be past down to the kin of those that survived.
Their world was clearly foreign to me, and it seemed that all rational explanations were out the window when it came to their world, leaving me at a loss trying to figure out what the hell was going on here. But as I continued to watch the attack take place, I realized that something seemed very off
I could clearly tell the difference between the local wolves and the rogues by their eye color, but as
I took a closer look, it was apparent that the rogues were fighting among themselves too, and not just with the local ones. I knew that they had told me that these rogue wolves were not to be trusted, because they were loners, but it seemed as if there were two groups of them here right now, and that the two groups were fighting on opposite sides.
Once again, none of this made a bit of sense to me, and I felt like I was being tossed into an unfamiliar world, that I had no clue how to protect or think rationally for myself, but that didn’t mean that I was going to throw the towel in. I had no clue if what Mrs. Ryder had said to be true, but even if it wasn’t, my mother had got herself involved in their world, obviously drawing me into it, and I knew that there was going to be only one way of ending all of this for good.
As Cash closed the back door to the car, ensuring the safety of the girls inside, I let out a sigh of relief knowing that they were getting the hell out of here, and that Tonya would be getting the medical help that she needs. With a few minor hiccups from the inexperienced driver, the car slowly pulled away, and my eyes fell on a huge black wolf.
My breath hitched, as my heart instantly began to race in my chest, thinking that this was the wolf that had attacked me in the parking lot and the girls‘ locker room. All I could think about was that he was back to finish what he had started, and fear like I never felt before raced throughout the entirety of my body, thinking that today might be my last day.
But as the huge black wolf takes another wolf to the ground with ease, and then slowly turns in my direction, that fear I was feeling vanishes, as I realized that the wolf was Chance. Our eyes instantly met, and when they did. I saw his eyes veer immediately towards Cash, and I could see even in his

wolf form, his features change as it was clear that he wasn’t happy with Cash bringing me here!
Knowing that look on Chance’s face all too well, even in his wolf form, I stepped in front of Cash, drawing Chance’s attention back to me. When our eyes met for the second time, I realized that he had no clue that I knew who he was.
He had left for the school before the cat was out of the bag, and the look I was seeing in his eyes right now wasn’t just the fear for my life, but also, he was worried about being outed. But it was a little too late for that one, and right now, we needed to run these rogues as far away from the school as possible, so that no one else got seriously hurt.
Unfortunately, Chance’s attention had been diverted to me, and as I stared back at him, I noticed movement to his right, as a group of rogues were sneaking up on him. Looking back at Chance, I screamed out, “Chance!” As I pointed to his right, just in the nick of time for him to turn to see them approaching him.
But even with my warning, it was too late, as they all pounced on him at once.
