Chapter 119-1
Chance’s POV
What the hell was he thinking, bringing Raven here? Does anyone around here even listen to my orders anymore? I specifically told him to take her back to the ranch and keep her safe. I would have expected the disobedience from Chase, but from Cash, I expected him to do exactly as I asked.
Bringing Raven here was not only putting her life directly in the line of fire, but it was also going to expose us all to her before we had a chance to come out to her in private. Plus, having her here was a distraction, a distraction I couldn’t afford, as I was in way over my head with these many
rogues at once.
All I had for a line of defense assisting me with the attack was a bunch of newly turned wolves and a couple of faculty members from the school that hadn’t trained in what seemed like a decade. Honestly, I had no clue how we were even holding our own right now, but somehow, we were.
As I stared at Cash, narrowing my eyes, I mind linked him, asking him what the hell he was thinking, before I turned to look at Raven, wishing that we had the chance to explain all of this to her, before she saw this mass chaos. But it was too late, as Cash exposed her to the dark side of our world, a part that I honestly wished she would never have had to see firsthand.
Unfortunately, until this whole thing was dealt with, with the Rogue Alpha King, I feared that this was just the beginning of what was to come. It was clear that he had no regard for life, attacking the pups of our pack that hadn’t even gotten their wolf. It was a ruthless act on his behalf, one that I will not forget when I eventually end this for good.
Raven stood there, staring back at me, and I could see the fear present in her eyes, but for the first time, I also saw what looked like a sign of a fire burning in her heart, telling me that she had a wolf locked inside of her. I began to stare deeper into her eyes, looking for any more signs, hanging onto the hope that her wolf was starting to come forward on its own, when her eyes steered away from me, looking directly to my right.
Her eyes only lingered away from mine for a second or two, before they moved back to look straight into mine once again, as she yelled, “Chancel”
My eyes narrowed as I looked at her, confused, wondering why she had just called out my name. The shock and confusion wore off quickly, as I followed her finger to the direct path that she was pointing to, realizing that I had been distracted just long enough to be surrounded by the Rogue Alpha King’s men,
Ibraced myself just in the nick of time, as all the rogues pounced on top of me at once, but even

with as many as there were, I stayed on all four of my paws, not allowing them to take me to the ground. All the training I had been doing all these years with father was beginning to pay off, and a part of me wondered if this is why he had trained me so hard, knowing what fate had in store for my brothers and me.
But even with all the training in the world, I never would have foreseen that my brothers and I would have to deal with the Alpha Rogue King and his pack of uncharted, ruthless wolves. Unfortunately, that was the hand we were being dealt with, and I would be damned if Vallowed them to lay another finger on our mate.
The problem that I was having right now was, I was outnumbered at least four to one, and I had one brother that was missing in action that wouldn’t take my SOS, while I have another brother that was foolish enough to bring our mate straight to the middle of the attack. This left me in quite a predicament as we had trained to fight three strong verses on our own.
