Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 231

Chapter 120-1

Raven’s POV

I had seen enough, and I wasn’t going to just sit on the sidelines and watch these rogues

continuously attack my friends, with what looked like an endless supply of an army. They were clearly fighting for their lives, and I could see the wear it was starting to take on all of them as the minutes ticked by and more reinforcements for the other side kept arriving with no relief in sight

for us.

The problem was I wasn’t like them, even though Mrs. Ryder said that I was, and if I was going to

stand a chance at fighting them, then I needed to use what training and skills I did have. I now

knew exactly why my mother had insisted on my training, as I am now sure that she feared the day

that these rogue wolves would come for me like they had come for her.

Knowing that I needed to find a weapon, because I knew that I wasn’t strong enough with my own

two hands to fight them off, I looked around until my eyes landed on a pickup truck parked a few

parking spaces over. One thing I had learned since coming here to Beaumont was that these

country boys always had a bed full of stuff. It was stuff that I had deemed unnecessary and more

like junk, but right now as I moved to climb onto the bumper of the truck, I was thankful for all of it

that I once thought was useless.

Rummaging through the contents, I came across a few items that I thought just might do the job, but then my eyes landed on an old bag of golf clubs. Half the set was missing, but the one club that I was looking for remained in the bag. Pulling the driver out of the bag, I examined it, making sure that it was sturdy enough. Thankfully, this was an old set of clubs, and had been made to last, unlike the new lightweight metals that they had been using to make them.

Cash’s eyes widened as he looked up at me, examining the driver, before he asked, Raven, what are you planning to do with that?

Lowering the driver to my side, I moved to the tailgate of the truck, where Cash stood, as I thought about the offer he had given me earlier.

Raven, I can’t let you do this. Chance would kill me if I allowed you to.Cash then said to me with grave concern, and I knew that he genuinely cared about me, but right now this wasn’t about my safety but the safety of everyone around us, as their lives were just or more important than my

own was

Instead of answering him, I asked him, Does your offer from earlier still stand?

Cash looked at me with a look of confusion in his eyes, as he helped me down from the bed of the truck, before he realized where I was going with this little plan of mine. The way I saw it was, !

needed to make it to Mazie’s car where Jacob was, and once I made it there, then I could use the

club to keep the rogue wolves away, while Cash then could join the fight beside his brother, giving

us another wolf on our side.

Yes, I would be in the middle of it all, not exactly where one would want to be, but I wouldn’t just be on the sidelines praying for everyone’s safety, but instead, contributing.

Cash began to grumble, and I knew by his grumbling he didn’t like my idea, but he honestly didn’t really have a choice, because if it wasn’t on the protection of his back, then it was going to be on

my own two feet.

Do I have a choice? He then finally grumbled out, making a full sentence that I could understand, and I quickly shook my head at him, letting him know that I was going in with or without him.

Running his hands through his hair, he let out a growl, and I knew that he wasn’t happy about this, but that he was going to give in, because it was the best way that he could ensure my safety. Cash then kicked his shoes off as he continued to grumble, and before I knew what he was doing, his

gym shorts were down around his ankles.
