Chapter 121-2

When I finally reached Raven, she shocked me when she threw her arms around me, holding on tightly to my neck as if I was a lifeline to her. Which in a way I was, because if I had it my way right now, I would be getting her the hell out of here, and away from all this damn chaos.

Tears began to stream down her cheeks, as I heard her whisper to me, “I don’t think I can do this.”

I had no clue what she meant by this, but what I knew right now was that she had learned far too much in a short period of time, and between all that she had learned and the rogue attack that was happening now, it was far too much for her to handle all at once. My first thought was to get her the hell out of here, and I was sticking exactly to that plan, as I lowered myself to the ground for her to get on, not caring about anything other than her wellbeing at this particular moment.

Thankfully, Raven didn’t fight me, but instead she willingly climbed onto my back, taking hold of my mane, tightly in her hands, as she tightened her thighs around my body. Just as I moved to stand, a familiar Alpha’s howl rung out, and it was like music to my ears as it couldn’t have come at a better time. Knowing that my father had finally heard my SOS and showed up to handle the rogues‘ attack with our pack warriors, it freed me to get Raven the hell out of here without having to worry about the burden of our pack members and their safety.

My wolf took off without a second thought, heading straight out of the parking lot, and as far away from all the chaos that I could. As my wolf raced out of town, Raven leaned forward, wrapping her arms around my neck, as if she was feeling comfort from embracing my wolf. I loved the new position she had taken, as it allowed me to feel her heart beating against my back, letting me know

that she was here with me.

My mind was torn about where to head, as I didn’t want to take her back to the ranch, because I

wanted to spend some time alone with her, especially now that the cat was out of the bag. I

honestly didn’t know how she was going to respond to me once I shifted back into my human

form, and I thought maybe it would be best for her if she was in the comfort of the place that she

had called home since she had arrived here.

With that thought, I headed straight towards Ms. Wilson’s house, knowing that the house had been

secured by my father and his men the night before. There was no way in hell after the amount of

the pack’s presence that was there last night, that any rogue would be stupid enough to come onto her land. Plus, I believed that all the rogues had to be at the school right now, as it seemed as

if there was a damn endless supply of them attacking us.

Even with me assuming this, I didn’t take any chances, as I made my way now through the forest that connected to the opening that the house sat in, sniffing the air all around me to make sure that we were alone. Thankfully, I knew that we weren’t followed, as Cash hung behind, letting me know

that we were in the clear, and that our father and warriors had everything now under control.

As I moved into the opening that Raven’s grandmother’s house sat in, Raven loosened her hold around my neck as she moved to sit up, while I slowly brought my wolf to a halt. My eyes scanned the perimeter one more time, before I lowered my body toward the ground, allowing Raven to easily slide off my back.

Freed from her weight, my wolf stood back up and quickly moved back to the tree line where I had stowed away a backpack with some clothes just in case an emergency like this would have occurred. Thankfully, I was always looking ahead, because right now I think the last thing Raven needed was my naked body in front of her, although it might act as a distraction if she was about to ream me out for keeping this secret from her. But after everything that she had been through, deserved whatever she was about to give me, because I knew that all of this would have been easier for her if I had just had the balls to tell her the truth.

Pulling on a pair of gym shorts, I moved around the tree back towards the house, finding Raven sitting on the front steps, slumped over as she held onto the railing. Sobs were softly coming from her lips, while she just sat there, probably still processing everything that had happened.

Moving to her side, I hesitated as I moved to take a seat beside her, but I didn’t want things to change between us. Hoping that she felt that way too, I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her into my side, wanting to comfort her, because I knew right now, she had no one left in her life except for my brothers and me.

I needed Raven to know that my brothers and I would always have her back, and that this thing

between us was so much more than she ever could imagine it to be. But first I needed to comfort

her, and make sure that she was alright, before I bombarded her with the rest of what she needed

to know.
