Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 241

Chapter 125-1

Raven’s POV

Does someone want to explain to me about what the hell is going on around here?Jacob asks, while looks even more confused and lost than I was, as he moves towards the middle of the room, scratchin his head, all while he looks among us, just wanting someone to answer him.

Thankfully, Jacob looked to be in a much better place than when I had seen him last, making me wond someone had slipped him one of my magical pills to calm his ass down. But even as calm as he now w I didn’t think that Jacob could handle hearing the truth, because I was barely hanging onto my own san through all of this. If it wasn’t for the fact that I felt like I could trust everyone in this room with my life, think I would have lost it at the brink of when it all went down.

Honestly, I had no clue if there was more that they weren’t telling me, as it seemed like we had only cracked open Pandora’s box. I felt like everyone in this room was still holding back something from me but once again, I didn’t know if I could handle everything at once. If I was being honest, I was still trying process the fact the werewolves were real, and now on top of that, I just found out that witches were re too.

Looking at everyone now in the room, just staring blankly at Jacob, I realized that none of them were willing to tell him the truth. It was clear that he wasn’t a part of this, but what they are all failing to realiz is that he witnessed it all, and I was sure he thought he was losing his damn mind.

Seeing this, it made me realize that Jacob was the closest thing in this room to what I thought was normal, and right now that is exactly what I was looking for, as I needed a moment away from everyone that had lied to me.

Stepping away from Chance, I took Jacob’s hand into mine, and a low growl from behind me instantly rumbled throughout the room. It was clear that Chance nor his wolf were liking the fact that I was touching another male, but what the actual hell? I turned giving Chance a glare, wanting him to know that his little growl did nothing to scare me, as I was going to pick and choose my own damn friends.

Everyone out!I demanded, as I held on tightly to Jacob’s hand so that he knew that I wasn’t talking abo him.

But Raven.Simultaneously came from everyone in the room, but I didn’t entertain any of them, as I just stood there shaking my head, letting them all know that there wasn’t anything that they could say or do at this moment to change my mind.

It’s not safe here for you or Jacob.Lexi says, pleading with me, and even though I knew that she was right, I needed tonight to be able to think with a clear head, and I knew that meant that they all had to leave.

Jacob and I will be just fine.I told Lexi, standing my ground against her, while my eyes moved to look at Mazie, who seerned to know better than to even put up a fight against me at this point.

So, instead, Mazie lowers her head, not saying a word as she leaves the room, with Lexi following shortly after her, leaving only Chance still standing in the room with Jacob and me. By the looks of things. Chance wasn’t going to go so willingly, but I needed him to realize that i was still in control of my own damn life, and right now, I needed time away from him and everyone else.

Relcasing Jacob’s hand from mine, I said to him in a soft, cool tone, Can you give us a moment alone?

Jacob turned to look at Chance, but it was for only a brief second, before he scooted out of the room, leaving me alone with Chance, just like I had asked him to do. But now that I was alone with him, I was second guessing myself, because for some damn reason I could feel this inevitable pull towards him.

Chapter 125-2

Chance and I just stood there staring at each other for what felt like forever before he finally broke the awkward silence by saying, Your friend is right. It isn’t safe here for you.

Once again, I knew they were both right, but I couldn’t go back to the ranch with him. It was clear that they were all worried about my safety, but I needed space, and I needed someone else other than them to talk to, someone like Jacob who didn’t have a stake in all of this.

Stepping towards Chance, I placed my hands on his shoulders, as I looked up into his eyes. The torment of me not listening to him clearly is visible in them, but I needed him to allow me this one night to process my own feelings and thoughts.

Listen, I know that you are worried about me, and I get the whole wanting to protect me, but I need some time alone to do so.

Spending the night with that boy isn’t alone. He argues with me, and I realize that his pride is what is standing in his way of allowing me this one request from him.

Realizing that he hadn’t figured out that Jacob was more interested in him and his brothers than he is me, I decided that maybe I should enlighten him, because he had suffered long enough.

Chance, that boy is my best friend. And even though he has no supernatural powers like the rest of you, he has one thing that none of you have, and that is, he is húman, just like me.”

But you aren’t like him.Chance says, interrupting me, still stuck on the idea that I was a werewolf like him, but I honestly wasn’t buying it just yet, even with the evidence he just showed me.

I’m more like him than you know. Trust me when I tell you that you have nothing to worry about when it comes to Jacob and I.

Chance let out a huff this time, before he says, Raven, all males think with one head when the sun goes down, and it isn’t the one on their shoulders. I won’t be able to rest tonight knowing that there is another male in your house alone with you, with you being all vulnerable right now. Honestly, just the thought of it is driving me and my wolf mad.

I couldn’t hold back the chuckle that slipped from my lips, as it was clear that Jacob’s mere male presence was putting Chance over the edge. But unlike him and every other male, Jacob definitely wasn’t thinking with that head, at least when it came to me.

Knowing that there was only one way to stop this craziness and put him somewhat at ease, I put it bluntly to him, Jacob is gay.”

Wait. What?Chance says, as he now looks at me with a dumbfound look on his face, clearly not expecting that to come from my lips, as it was clear that I took him off guard.

Giving him a few seconds to process what I told him, I took a step away from him, moving to the bed to take a seat once again, thankful that this was no longer going to be an argument between us.

Well, that would explain a lot.Chance finally says, as I watched the tension in his shoulders instantly release, now knowing that Jacob wasn’t a threat to our relationship, before he moved over to the bed, taking a seat next to me.

But that doesn’t make the situation any better. I can’t protect you if I am not with you, and I honestly don’t Know If my father got all the rogues. Hell, we could have been followed for all I know back here.

Placing my hand on his thigh, I give it a slight squeeze, before I stop him by saying, I know that you are worried about me, and to be honest, I am worried too, but for tonight, I just need to breathe, and a moment to think about all of this. Please, just give me this one night.

Chapter 125-3

What if I stay outside?Chance quickly counteroffers me, and I closed my eyes, shaking my head, knowing that he wasn’t going to leave me, even if i begged him too.

As I continued to shake my head to disagree with him, I began to plead with him by saying, I can’t have you sleeping outside. You need to go home and get some rest, especially after everything that happened today. I am sure you have to be beyond exhausted from fighting those rogues, and besides, I believe that they would be foolish to attack again tonight.

Chance’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked at me, and I could see that he was thinking about what I had just said, before he admitted, Your probably right, and I am sure my father will have a tight patrol running all night.”

I found myself leaving out a sigh of relief, as Chance moved to stand from the bed, extending his hand for me to take. When I take his hand into mine, he helps me to stand, as he says to me, My brothers and I will take turns patrolling the house tonight. Don’t worry, I will inform them that you aren’t to be bothered, but I would feel better if you allowed us this one thing.

How was I to say no to him, when I, myself, felt better knowing that they would make sure that no rogues came near my family’s home. This time, instead of shaking my head no, I nodded my head, finally agreeing with him, because it was a compromise I believed we both could agree on.

Pulling me into an embrace, Chance holds me tightly to his chest, as he places a soft kiss on the top of my head. Closing my eyes, I listened to the sound of his heart beating, just like I always do, and I began to tell myself that even though he is a werewolf, he is still the same person that I had fallen for that night in the back of his pickup truck.

If you need anything, I am only a phone call away. I will be here in a matter of minutesChance began to say to me, but I stopped him, because he didn’t need to make promises to me.

I am sure everything will be fine.I said, reassuring him, as I pulled away, knowing that it was time for him to go, before I changed my mind.

Grabbing a hold of his hand, I led him out to the living room, where Lexi and Mazie stood waiting with Jacob. When the three of them saw us emerging from the bedroom, they all stopped talking, as if they didn’t want me to hear what they were saying.

Jacob stepped away from them, moving to my side as I let go of Chance’s hand. I don’t know why it felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest at that moment when he walked out of the house, but it did, and I couldn’t get over the feeling that there was something so much more to this mate thing between

Raven’s POV

Pushing the curtains slightly to the side, I peeked out through the front window and watched the three of them have a brief conversation, before Mazie and Lexi got into her car and drove away. Chance, on the other hand, stayed behind, and he peered back at the house before he took off towards the tree line.

I stood there at the window watching him until he disappeared into the shadows of the forest, now wondering if I was foolish about sending them all away, but it was too late to change my mind at this point. Taking a deep breath, I turned around to face Jacob, only to find him doing something on his phone.

What are you doing?I asked him, knowing that whatever he was up to, it seemed off.

Jacob didn’t even bother to raise his head, but instead he just peefed his eyes up at me, as he said to me, I am ordering us an Uber back to California, so we can get the hell out of this twilight zone.

The thought right now, honestly felt tempting, but I knew I couldn’t run from all of this. My mother had done it when she was my age and look where that got me. I knew if I didn’t stay and fight along by their sides, then I would just be putting the lives of my future children in harm’s way, as it seemed to be a vendetta that just wasn’t going to go away.

I am sorry Jacob, but you are going to have to make that an Uber for one, because I can’t leave here.” I told him, as I walked past him towards the kitchen, needing to make myself a glass of warm milk, especially after the day that I had.

Jacob immediately follows me into the kitchen, and I didn’t even get a glass out of the cabinet before he says to me, Raven, seriously? This place, these people, none of this is normal. I should have known those bulk tan muscles of theirs were too damn good to be true.”

I couldn’t help but chuckle, as I should have known that would be what was on Jacob’s mind, but as I thought about those bulk tan muscles of the Ryder brothers, I couldn’t help but think that there was nothing wrong with them, and that they all three were perfect the way they were. I mean, Chase had his issues, but once you busted through the pain he holds from losing his mother, I could see a gentle side to him. As for Chance and Cash, those two would do anything to protect me, and right now, that was exactly what I needed.

Moving to the refrigerator, I pulled out the carton of milk and poured it into my glass, all while I said to Jacob, And those bulky muscles of theirs is what is going to keep me safe. if I take off back to California with you, what is not to say that these rogue wolves won’t follow us? If they do, what the hell are you or I going to do to protect ourselves from them?

Shit, I never thought about that. Do you think werewolves fly? I mean on planes?Jacob asked, and I shook my head at him, before I turned, placing my milk in the microwave, thinking that I would be doomed if I left here with him.

I loved Jacob with all my heart as my friend, and I knew that he would do anything for me, but the one thing I was sure that he wouldn’t do was die for me. Unfortunately, right now, it seemed I needed people around me that were willing to put their lives on the line for me, just as I was willing to do the same for them.
