“Explain.” Is all I said to him, as I leaned back against the wall, trying to steady my breath while I tried to bring my body temperature down. If there was a possible way that a woman could be blue–balled, my body was feeling the equivalent of it right now, as all I wanted was a damn release from this fire that he had ignited inside of me.
Once again, Chase shakes his head at me, taking another step back, as if he was worried there wasn’t enough space between us. Even though there were just a few feet, it felt like miles, and with each step that he took away from me, I felt the pain even more from the lack of his touch.
“Trust me, I am not the one that should be explaining this to you.” Chase finally says to me, admitting that he didn’t want to explain it to me, but I knew that out of the three brothers, he would be the one that was completely honest with me about what me being their mate was all about.
Pushing myself away from the wall, I took a step towards him, making his eyes instantly widen, as if he was scared that I was going to step too close to him. It had me now wondering if he truly wanted to stop, or if he had stopped because of me. If I was being honest, I wanted to continue right where we had left off, even if it was true that this damn mate bond he talked about was at play.
Taking another step towards him, he mimicked me taking another step back, and we continued this until Chase now found himself pinned up against the front door, with nowhere to go. With the fire he had ignited still burning inside of me, I pressed my body up against his, while I said to him, “I believe you are exactly the one to explain to me what a mate bond is.” Before I reached down, cupping his hardness with my hand, seeing that he was still just as much wanting me as I was wanting him.
“Raven…” He began to studder my name, as if he was shocked by my sudden boldness with him, and to be honest, I was a little shocked by myself too, but the heat I was feeling inside my body right now was becoming overwhelming.
The fire I was now feeling inside of me was actually taking a sudden turn, and the once pleasure I was feeling from it was now becoming painful, as it felt like the fire was continuing to build even without his touch. I was now realizing that something was wrong, and I took a step back from him, as sweat beads began to form on my forehead.
But as I took that step back, putting some space between us, I began to feel a bit lightheaded. My head instantly began to spin, making me feel slightly off balance. It wasn’t until I felt Chase’s hands wrap around me, did I realize that I almost lost my balance.

“Oh, my Goddess, Raven, you are burning up.” Chase says with worry in his voice, something that I never heard in his tone before, making me now worry that something is majorly wrong with me.
“You need to lay down.” Chase now says to me, as he guides me towards the couch, where I had started to make my make–shift bed.
Sweat now poured down the sides of my cheeks, as I felt the clothes on my back dampen with perspiration. I began to wonder if the furnace had kicked on, as the house felt like a damn sauna. Of course, my natural reaction was to free myself from the burden of my clothes, and that was exactly what I tried to do, but Chase was quick to try and stop me from doing so.
“Raven, no.” Chase said, as he tried to hold my hands down to my sides, as he stared down into my eyes.
My flesh beneath his hands instantly felt like it was on fire, and my back arched from the couch towards him, as if my body was reacting to the pain. The weird something that I had been feeling inside of me since earlier, felt like it was trying once again to surface, and honestly it felt like I was being torn into two.
A scream radiated at that moment from deep within me, as tears began to pool in my eyes, from the pain that I was now feeling. I had no clue what the hell was happening to me, as I had never felt anything like this before in my entire life.
My hands balled into fists, as Chase continued to hold my wrists down, and through my tear–stained eyes, I could see the worry now evident in Chase’s, as it was clear that something was majorly wrong with me.
