Chapter 141-1
Raven’s POV
Claim
Mazie and I began to fall into what felt like a black hole of complete nothingness. A part of me wanted to scream out, because I felt like we were never going to hit the bottom, but I remained silent, as Mazie’s hand held tightly onto mine, giving me a bit of comfort knowing that she was with me, and I wasn’t alone.
Unfortunately, it was dark as hell, and I couldn’t see a damn thing, not even my own hand in front of me, but I held onto the hope that eventually there would be light at the end of the tunnel. I mean, how long could Lexi pull off this illusion?
But as we continued to fall, I began to wonder if my grandmother’s house was actually floating in space, as it seemed like our fall was never going to end. I was on the verge of thinking that we should turn back, but then how the hell do you reverse a damn fall into what felt like the darkness of hell.
Even though I felt like I was on the verge of a panic attack, I kept telling myself that there was no way in hell that Lexi would ever allow anything bad to happen to me, or she would have done it by now. In a way, I felt like she was playing a damn game with me, just waiting to hear me let out a scream from fear, but unfortunately, if that was what she was waiting for, she was going to be waiting a hell of a long time, because I wasn’t going to show her even an
ounce of fear.
As if Lexi was once again reading my mind, a soft light began to illuminate the space below us, and for the first time since we had taken the leap of faith out the front door, I was feeling hopeful. But as the light became brighter, and what looked like an actual end came into view,
I realized that our fall wasn’t slowing down.
I was just about to brace myself for a hard impact, when Mazie yanked my body towards her, wrapping her body completely around me like a cocoon. At first, I wondered what the hell she was doing, but then it hit me that she was planning on taking most of the impact.
I barely got, “No, Mazie…” Out of my lips, when I felt the impact of our bodies hitting the surface hard. Mazie let out a whimper, and it was clear that the impact had injured her.
Releasing her hold on me, I quickly removed the weight of my body off from on top of her, realizing that Mazie had landed straight on her back. Her eyes remained closed as they winced shut, as her face slightly contorted. It was clear that she was trying to hold in a scream from the pain, but she did not need to hide the pain she was in from me.
Kneeling beside her, I began to give her a quick look over, assessing any visible injuries that

she may have. Thankfully, nothing looked out of the normal, but I knew that there had to be internal injuries that I couldn’t see, because Mazie was clearly in pain.
Wishing there was something that I could do to help ease the pain, I asked her, “What can I do to help you?”
Mazie let out a cough, and then, through gritted teeth, as she still tried to hold back the pain, she said to me, “Just give me a moment to heal myself.”
With a confused look on my face, I began to wonder if she had bumped her damn head in the fall, as I didn’t understand how she thought she could heal herself. But then, I remembered back to the recent instances when my own body showed miraculous healing, making me wonder if this was a werewolf’s superpower.
Giving her the space she asked for, I moved to stand, as I began to look around at my surroundings, hoping that I knew where I was, but as I stared at the vast forest that completely surrounded us, I had to admit, I had no clue where the hell we were. For all I knew,
I could be standing in the middle of the Rocky Mountains or standing in the forest directly behind where my grandmother’s house once sat.
