Chapter 143-2
As I continued to bellow out a scream towards it, letting all the damn frustration I had built up inside of me out, I realized that one of the creatures had returned. Closing my mouth, I took a step back as he moved straight past me to Mazie’s body. Kneeling down, he picked her gently up into his arms, before he stood to his full height, while he stared down at me with what looked like compassion or maybe even respect in his eyes.
With no words needing to be spoken, I realized that he wanted to help me with Mazie, and right now, I needed all the help I could get. Plus, I knew that Mazie and I would be much safer in his presence, along with what I assume was his pack.
Turning, he began to walk with Mazie in his arms towards the covering of the forest where the rest of them had already disappeared too, but before I moved to follow him, I took one last look at the monster with the red eyes who remained on the cliff’s edge still staring down directly at me.
Narrowing my eyes at the beast, I wished that I knew the way to put an end to all of this, but I still had no clue what the hell exactly was going on around here. Chance and Mazie had both briefed me on werewolves, but as for going into what the hell these beady red–eyed assholes wanted, they hadn’t even scratched the surface, making me wonder if they even knew.
It was clear that they had some kind of damn grudge against my family, and honestly, I wondered how far back this grudge went, but unfortunately, I wasn’t going to find out this information stuck out here in the middle of the damn woods. I needed to find my way back to civilization, and then back to Beaumont, so that we could figure this all out together, and stop these red beady eye assholes.
Turning my back on the monster, I began to follow the creature into the forest, hoping that we could put distance between ourselves and it. I maintained just enough distance between myself and the creature that was carrying Mazie’s body, because I wasn’t quite sure how approachable the creature was. It was clear that he was trying to help, but I honestly didn’t know how domesticated the creatures actually were, because, in all honesty, I never believed that they were real.
Actually, as I walk right now behind the creature, staring down at the ground at the massive footprints it was leaving in the dirt, I had to wonder how on earth more sightings don’t exist. But then I realized that many people probably don’t tell their experiences of seeing them, in fear of people not believing them.
There was no doubt in my mind if someone would tell me their experience of seeing one, I would have laughed right in their face, thinking that they were crazy, but now seeing them for myself, I knew that they were real. But even though I was witnessing this firsthand, I still

hadn’t wrapped my mind completely around everything that I now know was real, as it all seemed like a really awkward dream, or felt like I was somehow tripping on some bad shit.
Regardless, right now, the only thing I had were these creatures, and I was thankful for their help, as I honestly didn’t know what I would do without them. But as we continued to walk through the forest, with what felt like hours passing by, I had to wonder if being with them was the right thing, as I knew their kind were infamous for hiding from civilization.
As the sun now began to set, and my birthday was approaching, along with this super moon, I knew that I couldn’t be lost to the wilderness forever, as I needed to get back to Beaumont. Knowing that I had to try and communicate with the creature, hoping that he would somehow understand me, I picked up my pace, moving to his side, while I called out, “Excuse me. I need to talk to you.” Hoping that he would slow down, but instead of slowing down, he continued to walk as if he didn’t hear me calling out to him.
It had me believing that the creature didn’t speak English, which why would I even think that he would, especially when he lived in the middle of the damn mountain range away from any human eyes to see them. I then began to rack my brain thinking about how else I could communicate with him and make him see that I needed to get to where I could call back home for help. But there was only one idea that crossed my mind, and it honestly sounded crazy, but what other damn choice did I really have?
Picking my pace up, almost now in a full–on run so I could get ahead of him, I came to a dead stop in my tracks right in front of him, as I held my hand up straight in front of me, hoping that he would stop. But unfortunately, he kept on walking straight towards me, making me brace myself for impact, thinking that he was going to run me right over.
My eyes winced slightly together as my body tensed up, but to my surprise, he stopped right at my hand and looked straight down at me. My eyes widened as I now stared up at him, leaving out a breath I didn’t even know that I was holding, before I took a step back, taking a deep breath, knowing that I might make the biggest fool of myself, but what other choice did I have right now to communicate with him.
Raising my hands in front of me, I began to do my best to sign to him what I needed, as I felt like I was in the middle of a game of charades, which I was horrible at. As I brought my hand up to my ear like I was calling for help, the creature’s eyes narrowed as he looked at me, making me think that there was no way in hell that this was remotely going to work. But then he does something that I never would have expected, making me take a step back from him. “You need to make a call?” He says as plain as day, making me realize this whole time I was the dumb ass for thinking he and his kind were nothing but wild creatures.
I should have known if werewolves and witches existed, then why on earth wouldn’t he be able to speak English and know what a damn phone was too.
