Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 290

Chapter 146-1

Chapter 146-1

Chance’s POV

The business meeting I was supposed to have in Freedom Port with Alpha Zane, I unfortunately ended up having to cancel, as there was no way in hell that I was going to be able to concentrate long enough to make crucial decisions for the pack. With not knowing where Raven was, my head was a jumbo mess, and I couldn’t believe that I was foolish to let

some dumb ass witch take off with Raven.

However, I wanted to believe that even though Lexi was being paid for a service, which I honestly had no clue exactly what that service was, that she actually had Raven’s best interest at heart. Honestly, I just wish right now I knew who was behind hiring Lexi, because that would make it so much easier to track her down, plus, know exactly what her true

intentions were.

With Raven’s birthday approaching tomorrow, my soul wasn’t at ease, as it felt like a part of me went missing with Raven. Even though I hadn’t marked her as my mate, I somehow was feeling her loss, and right now, it was feeling stronger than ever, as there was clearly an

invisible pull, making me continuously run the perimeter of the Wilson’s property.

Honestly, I don’t know exactly what I thought I was going to find by doing so, but if I was being honest, I was praying that the house would reappear, along with Raven. I guess a part of me was holding onto the words that Lexi had spoken about Raven not being of age, giving me hope that her disappearance was just a temporary thing.

As my wolf came upon the opening on the property where the little house once stood, I found myself not alone, as Cash sat on an old wooden chair, just staring blankly straight ahead at nothing. Shifting back into my human form, I moved to where he sat, not saying a single word as I pulled up what looked like an old footrest, taking a seat on it beside him.

The two of us must have just sat there in silence, staring at utterly nothing, as I knew we were both silently praying to our Moon Goddess to bring us our mate back. But as the minutes ticked by, and not even a sign of hope was seen in sight, I couldn’t help but lower my head in defeat, as I felt like I had failed Raven.

“I just keep sitting here, praying for a miracle.” Cash says so softly out loud that I barely missed what he had said, but I couldn’t miss the pain in his tone expressing how badly this was killing him being away from her.

There was no doubt that Raven’s absence was affecting him by far the worse, as he was the brother that had always worn his heart on his sleeve. Unlike Chase, who kept his feelings bottled up inside of him, who was ready to explode at any moment, Cash was a totally

different story, as you never had to question what was on his mind. But moments like these, I honestly wish that I didn’t know, because his pain was becoming my own, seeing him hurting like this.

It wasn’t like I didn’t have my own pain I was feeling, but hearing the pain in his voice was also making me feel guilty, as I felt responsible for Raven not being here. I was the one that had put my trust in the witch, making Cash and Chase leave the house, and I felt like if I would have just inserted our positions as her mates knowing what was best for her, then just maybe she would be here with us right now.

But the damn witch had used Raven’s virtue against me, knowing that I was an honorable man. In the end, it was clear that nice guys finish last, because look where being honorable had got me and my brothers.

Unable to look Cash in the eyes, knowing that I should be the one suffering and not him, because it was clearly my fault that Lexi had taken our mate away from us, I tried to say something positive to Cash, praying that the Moon Goddess was listening.
